Kent State @ Miami
The Golden Flashes (13-3, 3-0) will travel to Millett Hallon Tuesday for a date with the Redhawks. Miami (7-9, 0-3) has lost three straight to start conference play and they are in desperate need of a win.
The Redhawks feature two double digit scorers in Nike Sibande (13.8) and Dalonte Brown (13.4). After that, they seem to play about 10 other guys who all put up so - so numbers.
So, So lets just look at those two. Sibande is a 6'4 junior from Crispus Attucks High School (a true patriot was Attucks) in Indianapolis. He was third team all mac last season and was the conference freshman of the year two years ago.
The 6'7 Brown is an Ohio kid from Toledo Bowsher. He has started approximately 60 games for Miami over the last two seasons.
Again, after that quite a few guys play, nobody seems to play considerably well, however. I hope this review is not a kiss of death. But burden, fear not, the Flashes will be victorious!

Any updates on Whittington? Will he play?

I saw somewhere today (R-C Twitter, maybe) that Whittington had gone through a light workout and might play.

Looks like a game time decision. I think we can pull away early and keep up the momentum. 75-60

Looking for a relatively low scoring game in the sixties. KSU by 8. Road games are tough. We need Phil.

I agree with that GFlash. Obviously the human element comes into play here. I have zero knowledge of the illness that Whittington is dealing with but priority is priority. If he can go, even 15 minutes would be helpful.

From Allen Moff's preview in R-C:
“Phil did a light workout (Sunday). I think he’s getting better. Hopefully he’ll be better (Monday) and be able to do some things in practice. We expect him to play (at Miami), but we probably won’t know until (Tuesday). We’ve had a couple guys that have been sick. It’s just that time of the year. I think in general we should be fine.”

Pretty horrible start for Kent. 2-15 shooting. Looks like about 200 in attendance

Wow... If we drive we charge or turn it over. If we don't drive we attempt an off balance deep jumper. 12 points with under 7 to go in the half. What a mess.

I have seen this movie before, not so much from this team. The body language tells a lot.

That was the worst half of basketball I’ve seen since the UNLV game.

As badly as we played being down 10 is amazing.

The only positive takeaway from that half is we're only down 10. Gotta give Miami's defense credit we haven't had anything easy. Seems like we came into this one unprepared and the execution is very poor. Hopefully they can straighten this out at half time.

Did you see the halftime story on Sibande. Crispus Attucks High School was Oscar Robertson’s alma mater. Who knew!

Looks just like last weeks women’s game. They just look like they don’t feel like playing.

Now Simons forgets to play defense and picks up a stupid T going into a timeout.
I’m done with this trash tonight and probably for a while. Can’t get behind it.
