Boogie
Lester
Precious
Malcolm

Damian
Tyler
DJ

Maurice / Lance

Sorry Jayden (he is totally lost out there)

On Offense Maurice / Lance need to be told; you guys are playing the 5 ... Inside, posting, and grabbing Offensive Rebounds and dunking on pick and rolls .... That's it ... If you can't then you'll sit ... Dandridge definitely needs to start, with these guys betting between 7- 8 minutes each spelling him ...

I liked DJ coming off the bench, and letting him come in as part of a 3 man rotation playing 2 spots with Lester and Precious lets us match up both big and small if need be ... More minutes for the 3 most important players IMO

Alo needs to develop a "floater" like Tyler has ... a lot of his turnovers are taking it to the hole and getting into trouble (fumble it away, no way to get a shot off, etc)

Tyler and DJ coming in together can be instant, high energy offense against anybody's 2nd unit, or a tired 1st unit ...

Baugh just needs to get to the rack ... He doesn't look comfortable as an off guard going to the corner waiting for the ball ....

I think Baugh needs to start over Boogie right now. Might be time for TH to start.

ALo or Harris
Baugh
Quinones
Achiewa
Dandridge

He's gotten better every game. And he's allowed Precious to be more effective. He's starting now and unless we start playing that quick lineup ... which is our best right now (PA, DJ, LQ, DB, AL), he'll keep starting. Now if Boogie gets it going ...

With Wiseman, we needed Dandridge to be a contributor to be a Final Four team. Now we need him to be a Sweet 16 team.

We have possessions with most of them without a single player in the lane. You can't run an offense like that. IF Dandridge can be a bit of a threat and get us 8 and 8, we can be good. If he can't we won't. He is a good passer and he makes a super high percentage of his shots. He would open things up for our guys outside and make everyone better.

It isn't fair to put it on him and if he can't, he can't and he shouldn't be blamed. This is how I see us.

I agree that we need Dandridge to be good. I don't see any way we're getting 8 points, 8 boards from him. He hasn't achieved either in any game, thus far.

10 points and 8 rebounds in his last 33 minutes of play, plus he will continue to improve.

Doesn't mean he has to be the leading scorer, just the guy who is in charge, a calming, steady influence who makes good decisions, makes plays at crunch time, all the things the team captain should do.

It was Wiseman. it was his team, and everyone knew it. With him gone I thought it would be Alo, it still may be, it could DJ, could be Harris.. just somebody who everyone else depends on. i don't see precious doing that, he has trouble with the ball in his hands.

if anyone steps up, we could be very good. If not....probably continued chaos.

It was never going to be Wiseman, not in a million years. He would have been our best player, but he never seemed to be a leader (now the proof is in the pudding) and he wasn't especially vocal or aggressive.

Precious was always going to be the leader by the way he plays and Lomax would have been just as much if Wiseman was on the roster. Maybe LQ has that potential down the road. The team is so young, you can't really tell.

If I had to bet, I'd say Lester emerges as the man of this bunch

Take out DB and insert Tyler and that is our best 5.

Definitely. But yesterday he was moving much more fluidly. He at least appears to be getting through the first part which is just getting back into game shape. His first couple of games he looked like he had concrete blocks for shoes but I really thought yesterday he looked much smoother and more comfortable roaming around the court.

Are you reading my Twitter?? LOL - I said the same thing yesterday. Malcom appeared much more comfortably aggressive, and seemed to flow much better than in previous games. I think he was mentally into his game, and with just a little more tweaking I could easily see him in an 8 and 8 guy as mentioned earlier in the thread. Aside from that, his defense is outstanding, he has quick hands which appear pretty soft as opposed to most big men. He is also LARGE and will not be pushed around easily.

Nope, never had a twitter or any interest in it. Great minds think a like... 04-cheers

Yesterday, I thought he really looked ready to play for the first time. And that is not meant as a knock on him because he was coming off an injury and it was to be expected for him to have to play himself back into game shape.

RE: Our Fate Is Tied To Dandridge
Penny felt the need to go zone when Dandridge was in the game...

We are going to have to be able to play Dandridge without having to go zone. If that means we cant switch as much so be it.

I like Malcolm and think he's the right starter for those matchups where we need a traditional big. If the other team doesn't have a center, I think a smaller lineup without MD is better for starting.

No way I think MD sets the ceiling for this team. I think that will be set by guard play. We need 2 of the freshmen guards to take their games to the next level. LQ has gotten the closest so far.

If he can play man, then let him play man.

If not, put him in the middle zone and play a 4 on 4 man with a rim protector.

Think back to Bird/McHale/Parrish type stuff.

I agree. I think Malcolm is an important piece, but tournament time is all about guard play. If 2 of our freshmen guard arent playing high level basketball at that point we wont be there long.

We should easily be a Final Four team without anyone in the lane on many of our possessions.

Lomax will have to pick up the pace if he wants to be 2nd on the team in rebounding. He is .3 rebounds per game behind DJ. Having a rebounder and defender at the 5 isn't necessary.

I'm not reading three pages of stuff.

For us to make the 16, we are going to need all of those guys to step up and have hot games here and there. There is no one on this team likely to carry us if other teams target them defensively. The only way we go deep is for different players to have the hot hand in different games.

The good news is we have enough talented players to pull this off.

I don’t see Malcolm getting there this year. He’s not gotten his explosion back that he had prior to the injury (last year he was dunking everything). Year after next, he will be devastating. This year, our hopes will lie in a lineup of 3 guards with Precious and DJ.

Don't be obtuse. If a freshman center who will be lucky to average 5 and 5 is going to set our fate, then it's a shallow roster.

lol

We are tied for 5th in the country in rebounding, and we're top 20 in defensive efficiency. We've been outrebounded in only 2 games - both were wins.

Don't worry about who the 2nd rebounder is, I think we'll be okay.
