3rd quarter has become a foul shooting contest. Foul after foul on both ends.

46-35 UT late in the 3rd.

Rockets 7-12 from the line this quarter. Leaving way too many free points on the floor

48-35 UT after 3. The 3rd was just a really awful quarter all the way around, but at least UT stretched the lead even with Black and Rokkanen on the bench with foul trouble much of the period.

Lead up to 18 53-35. TO by Cullop as she saw something she did not like on the floor.

60-43 UT with about 4 minutes left.

Good ball movement by the Rockets with Black and Santucci on the bench.

Cullop going deep into her bench with under three minutes left

Lance just came down with a 1-handed rebound. Not sure the last time I recall a WBB player do that.

63-51 UT Final. as NIU closed a bit after Cullop emptied the bench

Balance scoring and lots of contributions at both ends from freshman players. A game they should have won and didn't disappoint.

Good to see her getting some PT to help her develop her game. Talent needs polishing - this will help her.

Not a well played game on either side.

Black had 16.
Beacham had another great game. 11 points and 9 boards in only 22 minutes. She has seemed to get stronger during the season and isn't getting pushed around as much as she was back in November.
Lockett also another good game, had 10 points, 4 boards, 3 assists, a block and a steal. I'm more and more impressed with her every game. She is still making freshman mistakes, but she can get to the bucket and rebound with much bigger players, and plays very sticky D.
Santucci didn't do much on the stat sheet, but she had the task of guarding the much taller Woods most of the game and did a stellar job of that.

Good defense today. Lockett made some mistakes out there today, but she also did a lot of really good things. I think that Lockett and Wiard are going to have strong careers. Beacham has great hands and jumps better than most players her size. Maybe this year's Rockets are better than I thought. NIU is not a good team, but still a comfortable road win is a great thing.

Tanaya Beacham had a solid all-around game

Best stat: Rockets won the rebounding 40-32. NIU had been averaging more than 41 boards a game and had a height advantage at most positions against UT

Worst stat: 9-16 from the line. Only Locket was better than 50%. Seriously, UT needs to hire a dedicated FT coach.

Good observations Dwight. I would add that Arianne Whitaker provided solid minutes defending, rebounding, and scoring. Nice having her back for MAC play.

It is so frustration seeing "free" points go to waste!

A couple notes on Santucci's career numbers. Earlier this year, she passed Kim Knuth on the all-time assist list. She has 518 now, which is 6th all-time, and 35 behind Andola Dortch who is in 5th with 553. Some pretty good company there.

Also, she now has 178 steals, which puts her 1 behind Dana Drew for 10th all-time.
