That would be a 4-2 start having played 4 of 6 away from home

RE: MBB Hurons @Huskies
NIU has not been turning the ball over against the press! They haven’t looked strong in breaking it several times but mostly they have broke it. They have struggled with making free throws and shots at the end of games. They seem to be able to get a 10-12pt lead but not be able to push it to 20pts. At this point last year Huskies were 3-0 in MAC and finished with only 7 wins with what I believe was a better team. They need a killer instinct but they don’t seem to have any players like that.

I don't think this is a well coached team, I think we're all ready for a new coach. One with more passion for our program and NIU/Dekalb in general.
We do however have a winning record, and just beat a 10-5 team. Very happy about both of those items... GO HUSKIES!

On the plus side, NIU’s controlled all 3 conference games for the majority of the games.
On the down side, the last 5 minutes of each games has been a disaster

If they can just shorten the disaster period to 4 minutes they'll be sitting pretty.

RE: MBB Hurons @Huskies
I often wonder who the "voice" is in the locker room and huddle. Obviously, coaches lead but in all team sports, there's always a leader in the locker room/floor/huddle. In all honesty, German doesn't strike me as that guy. I think he's a good example of how to work your ass off, plus the team has often just stood and let German work...and he's the type to just put the team on his shoulders as opposed to leading everyone together. Either way, I don't see him as the vocal leader.
Last year, I have a feeling it was Thorpe. The problem with this year is they have a lot of new pieces and young guys, so I'm not certain who is the leader among them. Like I said, German and James don't strike me as those voices. And McCarty seems like the kind of guy who people ignore since he's always wound up or pissed off about something. I don't think Hankerson or Daow carry much weight or stature with the team.
Anyway, this may be me just thinking "out loud" but I've been wondering this for a bit and wonder if it has something to do with the late game relax mode.

The best stat in this thread was NIU 'started off 3-0 last year in MAC play'... before finishing 8-10!
The 10-5 team is now 0-3 in MAC play!
The 10-5 team's football team finished dead last in MAC play AND went to a bowl game!!!

If everyone in this country were to become an EMU fan, it would be a Huron-nation!
(Awww, piss on it!)

MD has mentioned he works the graveyard shift and lives in IN. Bet it’s as a bookie in a casino.
