MyBB IT'S NOT TIME TO......
03-pissed PANIC.......These young Tigers are actually doing a gr8 job based on the circumstances....Although it may seem like it's time to panic Penny/Staff/Young guns are going in the right direction....The 3 losses have come against tournament teams and our young Tigers battled to the end in EVERY game (No Quit In Them) a VERY gr8 attribute.....This system is setup exactly as the system that they want to transcend into, which is the NBA play-maker system....

Allow me to extrapol8 what is being seen here from our perspective that makes this appear as a conundrum/clusterF_ck scenario...

I know this will sound cliche', we actually need an antonym to abbrevi8 the element that since the "BIG DEPARTURE" we have to adopt by "committee" rebounding....The majority of NBA guards DON'T rebound as there are players the are paid to do just that....Precious has developed into this role by force.....Although he's being productive in a major way (Starting to reap MAJOR dividend$) it's starting to wear on him.... No one else on this team WANTS to rebound.... Our guards/forwards are of the playmaker type. They are conflicted with: boxing-out;rebounding;getting back defensively instead of what they would prefer to be doing is getting out on the break; filling the lanes; spotting up for a thr333 and attacking the defense (before it can get set) TEMPO TEMPO TEMPO (Blistering Pace actually).... With these conflicts and youth comes uncertainty, that uncertainty, coupled with a matchup against pretty good teams overall is giving our young Tigers really BIG hurdles to overcome.....RIGHT NOW

This adversity IS making them stronger,TRUST....Our conference tourney will be a huge marker for them.

What these Tig's need right now though, to assist them in getting over this hump is CONTINUITY....It's is right now CRITICAL of CPH and staff to IMMEDIATELY establish continuity in this group....

My suggestion: We must begin with a lineup that's going to be the lineup from this point forward with very little, if ANY devi8tion:

STARTERS, JMO and I'll give a small explanation:

Malco D As I previously mentioned, outside of Precious, We have NO DEFINITIVE rebounder....Malco D fits this to a tee....He will grab the board and outlet to the playmakers ahead....He actually doesn't necessarily have to hustle back every play for the finish as Precious currently does (It's wearing him out)

Precious Achiuwa Doesn't want to play Center position, will be able to defend all over, instead of releg8ed to the post and make our defense even that much stronger....When Malco gets the board, he can immediately get up the floor for EASY basket ops....Putting IMMENSE pressure on the other team

DJ Jeffries DJ is our MOST capable playmaker and a mismatch nightmare for ANY team....He needs to be in the starting role as he and Precious developing is key to making a run.....He actually does a fantastic job of finding Precious for easy finishes....from the key and love his work on the baseline (work of art actually) 03-cloud9

Lester Quiniones/Boogie Ellis this is a toss-up, however with DJ starting at the thr333, I actually prefer LQ coming in to spell DJ at the same position....I also feel that we need to see more of Tyler Harris and LQ on the floor together, as this tandem can give teams fits when they turn it on.....Especially with Alo running PG on reserves as this spreads the floor and keeps EVERYONE honest

Damion Baugh Love his physicality and ability to make plays....This lineup allows him to develop

So, this is JMO and my scenario moving forward to NOT PANIC.....Everything is going to be gr8

Malcolm, Isaiah and/or Lance, at least one of them, has to step up and rebound consistently. They do not necessarily need to score a lot just rebound and defend down low.

Who the @#$# would panic now? Seriously. We have a young team. we lost on the road to a ranked opponent. By March this team could lose early, or make a deep run. That's how young, extremely talented teams are. Chill the **** out.

Most of what you said was incoherent, but you're right about the rebounding.

Everyone needs to have a role on this team for the talent to gel. The bigs need to be focused on rebounding. Precious can still continue with point production, but Dandridge and Lance need to make their primary objective rebounding. Draw up a few plays for Dandridge to help him develop, but outside of that, focus on rebounding.

RE: IT'S NOT TIME TO......
Auburn is destroying what is soon to be a 10-5 Georgia team. The UT and OM wins don't look like much at this point (although it is always good fun to beat those teams).

We are good but not real good. I don't see a top 25 team anymore - I see a bubble team.

Hopefully Penny can pull in a couple of 4/5 star bigs to go with all the guards we have coming back and next year can be what this year could have been.

It is what it is...….

Of course you can place that on the defection of "The Tix" (As he would be the antagonist to engulf 80-90% of the available rebounds) then everyone else's role would then be to make plays in transition (what this roster is designed for) but rn that's neither here nor there....

For this team to become successful, Malcolm is going to have to establish that role and allow these playmakers to flourish....Capish 01-wingedeagle

It'll probably take more than a couple of wins over a poor and an average team.

Probably need to win 4-6 in a row to get ranked again. Team will be out of the Top 25 regardless of what happens tomorrow.

Problem with Lance is he wants to play wing. Has no desire to mix it up down low. Looks to be the same for Maurice.

Hardly a drop in the polls. Still in top 25.

Why are you guys bringing up rebounding like it's an issue? We've only been outrebounded in 2 games all year, and neither of them were losses.

You don't think Lomax, Damian, and LQ are good rebounding guards, then I don't know what to say.

You don't think Lomax, Damian, and LQ are good rebounding guards, then I don't know what to say.

Rebounding is brought up to emphasize the struggles at the offensive end.... we have a team full of players that are accustomed to being fed the ball then attack.... running out in transition and putting up quick shots is what this team is wanting to do.... When you ask of these players to TOTALLY change that, therein lies the challenges with them mentally, as they must do MORE of what they were mentally prepared to do.... so they all are struggling with that...

Even in the presser, you hear CPH speak of Precious and him NOT wanting to buy-in of what they NEEDED him to do, which was play the 5..... although he is capable, he doesn’t see himself doing that at the next-level.... So mentally, that was a hindrance to him...although it’s making him a better and more complete player

So once again, these guards are rebounding, yes.... but their mentality is ONLY focused on the ability or their inability to score because of this (rebounding)
