I do not agree with Ted Roof, there has to be worst than him.

I’ll add Daryl Mudra. FSU nearly shut down their football program after his tenure.

Greg Robinson SU

Derek Dooley UT-K

Randy Shannon Miami

2nd Kevin Steele

I would add Charlie Strong and Gerry Faust

Think Manny Diaz will prove himself worthy of that list in a few years, but hasn't had enough time

Greg Robinson was a GREAT defensive coordinator. Didn't do too much during his 1 stint as a head coach.

Where’s Charlie Weiss? Easily top 12 worst disasters at a major program

01-wingedeagle

Ted Roof was 6-45 overall in four plus years as head coach.

I think our AAC/CUSA fans would mention-
John Thompson, ECU
Ellis Johnson, Southern Miss
Watson Brown, UAB 62-74 but before that at Vandy only 10-45.

Kragthorpe had prior success at Tulsa.

Widenhofer was an old PRO coach. He had good defensive teams at Vandy, but the offense never got rolling.

Steve Kragthorpe took good UL teams and destroyed all that good will made during Bobby Petrino’s first tenure.

There were people picking Louisville to win the national title Kragthorpe’s first year. Then, his first game as coach, Louisville allowed 35 at halftime to Middle Tennessee. LOL

Ty Willingham nearly destroyed two separate programs (ND/Washington) singlehandedly.

He has to be on this list.

How do you go 0-12 at Washington?

Tyrone actually started off well at ND. 8-0 and won a College Gameday game at Air Force.

I remember his teams doing that weird thing on XP’s where they line up on one side then mass move to the center. Seemed pointless.

He rode that 8-0 start for the rest of his stay there.

He was a lazy, horrible recruiter. He gutted the roster.

He enjoyed playing golf at Warren Golf Course much more than he did recruiting.

Hard to say that when he was 41-49 overall with a Sugar Bowl and Fiesta Bowl appearance.

Charlie Weis was 35-27 at ND.

He started out great, going 9-3 in 2005 and 10-3 in 2006, with Fiesta and Sugar Bowl appearances respectively.

It all went down hill after that, with Weis going 3-9, 7-6 and 6-6 after that.

Yes, but 6-6 at ND is the equivalent of 2-10 at a lot of other programs. A blue blood like the Irish has much higher expectations of their HCs

Asinine. If that's the case then we can add Lou Holtz, Bob Davie, and Brian Kelly to the list because all have had 6 win or worse seasons.

Nobody is trying to say Weis was a great coach, but he was over .500 at Notre Dame, went to two major bowls, and wasn't even the worst Notre Dame coach in the past 50 years.
