Small guards are a liability on defense as Bruce K. from Michigan State and B.J. from Texas found out in 08-09 NCAA tourney. AA shut them both down. After watching the game yesterday I may have to rethink my statement. Tyler and Alo played great. They are going to be super before they are through at Memphis. Alo is a great rebounding guard and Tyler can help overcome a deficit in the second half and almost always does when the Tigers are behind.

While I agree with your sentiment in theory, the bolded part above doesn't prove anything. AA shut ERRBODY down.

And just to keep facts accurate, wasn't that 07-08?

And I believe it was Drew Neitzel from Michigan State.

Yes it was. I think Drew was crying.

The lost art of fighting through every screen and guarding the man you designated as the best matchup instead of these lazy switching defenses so many teams employ now that allows the offense determine the matchup.
