Precious not playing 30-35 minutes was curious but he still had a double double. Precious did his part. DJ needed to step up and didn't/couldn't. I'm not being critical of him because I'm sure he still isn't close to 100%, just saying. This one falls squarely on our guards if you ask me. The only one who stepped up was Tyler. Baugh didn't even get a shot off but as with DJ he probably still feels like crap. Lomax scored 6 points all night, Lester only had 7 while Ellis had 2 measly points and those were off FT's. Lester was tied with with Precious and DJ for minutes at 29, something isn't right with him over the last two games which is curious because he's been steady Eddie all year.

Precious, DJ, Lomax and LQ should all see 30 minutes each IMO. Take away IM's 8 and Junior's 7 and give them to Lomax and LQ. At this point Ellis's 15 should go to Baugh but I get the need for it tonight since Baugh is sick. Let Dandridge and Thomas split sub time, probably not equally, more like what you said.

Penny mentioned that the lineup is going to get shaken up, I sure hope so. IMO he needs to stick to an 8, 9 man at most, rotation.

And Lomax, I get that he's the point guard but 4 assist to 6 turnovers, c'mom man.

I like Baugh getting a little more and think there will be flashes when Boogie looks better, but Boogie plays much more like a classic freshman

Looking at so many of our good past players it is amazing how they improve in year two. Sometimes due to more minutes but usually due to fewer errors and being stronger

I'm just saying your point guard should have more assists and it's kind of understandable that he doesn't score a boatload of points and the better number would be 4 assists to 2 turnovers. Assists seems to be a problem for the whole team anyway.

Exactly.

Maurice adds nothing and actually is a net negative because he thinks he is a stretch 4. Every time he lines up a 3 I just shake my head.

Give those minutes to Dandrige and let him develop.

He also had 6 turnovers and multiple missed/blocked layups.

I'm not as sold on Alo as most of you guys. I understand he's a Memphis hero & his shooting has improved but his TOs, refusal to pass the ball on the perimeter & repeated drive & TO routine is killing us. I understand Penny is loyal to a fault but he needs to be more objective about Alo & his son. I think he needs to get the rotation down to 7-8, play Dandridge more, IM & Thomas much less. I like Baugh more too.

Alo has been our best player this year besides Precious. He just had a bad game.

Lomax is our 3rd best rebounder and leads the team in assists and steals. He seems to steady the team. He just needs to not try and do too much which leads to a crazy shot or a turnover.

I would start Lomax, Boogie, LQ, DJ and Precious. Boogie is too good not to find his shot eventually. He's a good defender as well.

Lance Thomas needs to be told to stay inside, rebound, defend, block shots & do more "dirty work" inside. Stay off the perimeter. Same for Isaiah Maurice.

I expect one of the reasons they are outside is to open up the middle for Precious. Unfortunately, the downside to this is that they take 3's when those shots should be left for our guards.

There's a reason that Isaiah & Lance get wide open perimeter shots - the other teams scouting reports probably say "crash the boards when these guys shoot, they will miss".

Jayden, Thomas and Maurice are 6-49 from 3, Lance is 1-15

Well, I continue to say, ALo is tough as nails, hustles his tail off, but as far as it goes, if he is our best pg, we are not a good team. Right now ALo seems to be our best pg, and we are not a very good team.
