RE: Starters and bench
Penny said on the postgame with Wolo that he had stuck with the same lineup due to the 10 game winning streak. Now that is over, I think he is going to shake it up some.

I want to see Dandridge playing 25-30 minutes a game. He had 14? or so tonight. We need him to develop because we arent getting anything else from Maurice, he is a senior, his development is basically stalled at this point. Lance is a backup role player.

6pts 4rbs 3/4 1 foul 0turns 3blks 14 minutes.

Maurice isn't good at shooting OR passing. But maybe you're on to something with Chris Rock bobblehead -- less likely to throw the ball away than Jayden.

Malcolm should play more. The one time they gave it to him in the post he scored

The best 5 is ALo, Tyler, Lester, DJ, Precious and I just don't think that's debatable at this point. That should be starting lineup. Those 5 give us 4 good offensive players on the floor and allows us to space the floor.

Ultimately though this team is missing a playmaker. Last year Penny was simply able to just tell Martin go get us a bucket and Martin would get it done. This year we don't have that guy.

How could you possibly say that isnt debatable? That absolutely is debatable..

ALo and Tyler both starting? Yes Tyler had A good game last night.. compared to how many awful games this season?

One thing that intrigued me last night was them setting the high screen for Tyler last night. If Tyler can make good decisions that could be a very effective play because he can make the shot if they go under and if they switch he has to immediately attack (since he actually has a floater in the lane) but be willing to pull the ball back out

Alo and Harris on floor together against good competition is recipe for disaster. Ray Charles could see that. Lester, Boogie and Baugh have the talent and need to perform at a higher level, and we may not see that until later in year or maybe even next year.

Offensively right now Tyler is better than Boogie, Baugh or Alo. But defensively players are licking their chops to go at Tyler.

I'm not sure Dj could be a 4, and I know Achuiwa wants to develop more of a perimeter game for the NBA. I think a more viable starting line up would be

ALo
Baugh
Les
Achiuwa
Dandridge

Bench

Ellis
Harris
DJ
Thomas
Maurice

The challenge is Penny wants to play 4 out and 1 with a pro style offense. He just doesn't have the shooters to do that. He can let Les , Harris and Ellis take 3's in a efficient half court O. But, he can also develop a traditional offense with some post sets and back cuts and such, to take advantage of the depth and athleticism advantage he will have most nights. Penny been trying to run this Pro style offense for two years without the players to make it work effectively. He's getting there, but he should look at what he has and adjust. This is a good team that can be great with more experience and skill development. The TO's and bad shooting are resulting from an ill fit with the offensive style. The trick is that the kids want to run it, with aims on making it to the NBA. But, they could be a much better team with a traditional style offense in the half court.

That is the frustrating thing with Harris. He maybe the best shooter on the team, but , because of his height and lack of skill development, he is such a liability in other aspects of the game that you almost have to pick your poison playing him. A player his size needs to get at least 2 steals a game, and just be a dog while D'ing up opposing teams guards. But he is such a defensive liability. He needs to develop a better B-Ball IQ and defensive game.

Precious may not want to play the 5 but right now that's where you need him. DJ is going to have to suck it up and play the 4. Maybe start playing zone for about 15 mins a game. Try different things. I would say start Dandridge but he's the only big I want coming off the bench in the 4/5 spot. (Thomas if we are in real foul trouble). Lester at the 3. ALo the 1. Right now Tyler is your best bet at the 2 but I don't like him and ALo starting together. Start Boogie or Baugh at the 2. Let Tyler be the first off the bench along with Dandridge and they should both play starter type mins. Tighten up the rotation and that's it. Lastly, how do we sneak Isiah Stokes into Maurice's jersey? He would be great to have with his skills and size.

Why are you saying Tyler is the best at the 2? As far as I know he has had 1 good game, 1 OK game, and the rest he struggled in...

last night was his good game... he was 5/14 and 3/9.

He's your best shooter and on the big stage in a rowdy environment he wasn't nearly as rattled as anyone else. Until Boogie gets it together, give me Tyler at the 2.

Also, if I was Penny, I would tell DJ it's time to start being 'selfish' and start taking over. He's too good not to be getting more shots.

While I think Dandridge is the best of the bigs I think the other guys are getting a raw deal.

Dandridge isn't rebounding at at a better rate than Maurice

Maurice does have defensive issues...I will give everyone that.

But the only reason people are harping on Maurice and Thomas is they are doing what they have been asked to do. SPREAD THE FLOOR.

Penny puts them at the 3 point line even though they have not been successful there. They have other strengths but they are stuck where they are not effective.

That is similar to lining up Magnifico up on the offensive line....He aint going to be successful. Penny needs to adjust to his personnel

^^^^^ Don't know how many TOTAL minutes he can play.....However, I would love to see him start....What he brings to the game game is something no other player brings and I feel that it is a missing component....Our guards simply DON'T want to rebound or the lack thereof I feel is causing a glaring weakness in what they would prefer to do....Maybe exaserbated by the absence of Wise....Malcolm seems to be the enforcer that we need....

I absolutely love his demeanor and he seems to have a gr8 feel for the game.....If he is healthy.....release Malco D. 04-rock

RE: Starters and bench
The hole that Wiseman created is being exposed. Penny's 4-1 offense would look totally different with Precious and Wiseman alternating inside. As it is, we're trying to replace Wiseman's face-up ability, with Isaiah and Lance. It's similar to last year when we were trying to make Kyvon a stretch-4. Recall how frustrating that was? I get what Penny's doing, but - like last year - we're a stretch 4 short.

Some of you hoops savants...When we want to run some face-ups with Precious, what about rotating LQ and Damian inside? They both have middling size, and the tenacity to mix it up.

While Wiseman would have helped this team get more open shots they would have had to still make them. Making Precious the 1 in the 4 around 1 concept doesn't make sense when that sticks Dandridge/Maurice/Thomas at the 3 point line.

Maurice and Thomas are getting crucified for taking the 3s but that is what they are being asked to do. They are wide open at the 3 point line without the skillset to create off the dribble and cannot make a 3...Penny needs put them in a position to succeed.
