We aren't a good team and when Green plays bad, we aren't beating a team with a pulse very often. Its wild how much hes regressed (not been able to elevate his game to a primary scorer).

The give up was with 1:10 left and down 10 with Charlotte shooting 2 free throws. Little quick, but you can clearly tell the reason. We were down 10 with a little over 2 mind left and the next two possessions are 3s out of the rhythm of the offense by Kalu and Wade, two guys that should not be shooting. Most important possessions and Kaku, Wade, and Reece are taking rushed 3. JJ got frustrated and pulled them all. This team just doesn't know how to run offense/share ball.

It ends up with Green at the elbow and instead of looking to attack or shoot a 3, he takes a terribly inefficient long 2...all the time

So, I can only conclude JJ is not capable of "coaching" these deficiencies out of them .
We've seen our latest addition go from a 17 point opening performance to scoring ZERO points. If this were an anomaly I'd just shrug and move on. Unfortunately it seems to be the rule, not the exception. I want JJ gone.

I was right Blaine was drunk and ruining the program and I was right about jones being just good enough to not get fired but never good enough to do anything that matters which is exactly who he is.

I wanted Keatts and I wanted Rhodes.

Anyone that wanted to see a bunch of small ball, there it is. We have a 6'-7" (if that) guy playing center, a 6'-5" guard playing power forward, and practically no low post scoring threat. To play that kind of lineup a team had better have several reliable 3 point making guys and ODU doesn't as witnessed by their 1-22 effort last night. Even VCU who plays this kind of basketball always has a legitimate post threat down low that they utilize - Santos Silva this year, Marcus Tillman before him.

I was the one who talk to Duce on the radio when they hired coach Jones,
I was appalled at the choice and still am! I cannot understand how this great basketball program could hire a basketball coach with such a dismal record and expect a change, it hasn’t happened and it is not going to happen, the sooner the make a change the better I am still a season ticket holder but seldom go to games anymore and I give little to ODAF it used to be intercollegiate foundation. That is not likely to change as long as Jones is coach.

This season could turn out to be bad enough to get JJ fired. I'm now in the same position as I was with football and BW. I want us to lose 'em all because that's the only way the admin is going to move on. College basketball is supposed to be competitive AND entertaining. We were neither yesterday. I'm now in the corner of let the season play out but it's time for change.

I know what happened last year, Band Boy. I'm looking at what's happening this year and what's on the recruiting horizon, as we know it. You may be right, but it would be a big mistake on ODU's part if they end up playing more games like they did yesterday.

Thank goodness for the ladies win yesterday. Otherwise, we are now losing to Charlotte in both football and men's basketball. It stinks.

How many freaking years do we continue to have say this? Give him one more year, give him one more year. Enough is enough. If he hasn’t changed his stripes by now, he never will. I certainly didn’t like the hire. He will never take us anywhere except continual mediocre. Yesterday was another prime example. A very winnable game, but it was brutal. Fire him today would suit me just fine. And take dick Woody with you....

I’m not sure that’s true. Between FB and BB, this has been an epically awful year for ODU fans. Wood is in jeopardy of completely losing our fan base. He can’t afford another decline in attendance after the football debacle. I think he has a short leash...at least I hope he does.

JJ won the conference last year and up until this year we were competitive in CUSA, but it has never been fun or entertaining to watch. Ugly basketball isn’t going to cut it these days, especially when you lose.

So true and as for the NCAAT appearance last year. We drove up and witnessed that debacle. If we’re not trending up from there, that is just unacceptable.

After he fired Blaine, Wood promised us an upbeat, entertaining brand of basketball. He lied. I know Enfield got snatched away by USC at the last minute, but Wood should have had a fallback option. If JJ was that option, then I think even less of his judgement.

He lied about numerous things in his nepotistic hiring of Jeff Jones.

He lost every ounce of respect I ever had for him because of that process and has done absolutely nothing since to earn it back.

The only thing he’s done in his time at odu is destroy a once proud men’s and women’s basketball tradition.

Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while which appears to be what happened with the women’s program.

I do not trust him to do the right thing and replace this disgrace of a product we are now putting on the court night after night.

And let’s be very clear, last years team wasn’t that great either, historically speaking, compared to previous ODU teams. We just won a god awful, atrocious conference.

An apology is definitely not forthcoming. I was disappointed just like most of our fan base when JJ was hired. However, I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (especially after the season we don’t speak of), and he reestablished our program and has had some success. But he has not achieved the success our program deserves - and for that reason - it’s time for a change. And I don’t care for his harsh demeanor and colorful language toward our players during the game. He needs to recognize there are children in the venue. I honestly would not be opposed to bringing back a sober BT (if someone could guarantee he is clean).

Seems we've been stuck in this cycle for about 4 years. Somebody needs to make a proactive move.

This is what it all boils down to. If last year was a step on the way to elevating the program, it would have been reason to keep JJ around and reward him with a raise and extension. As it turns out, last year was a peak, followed by a complete rebuild, and maybe a .500 season. It was just a flash in the pan, as it turns out.
