Jim McElwain is exactly who Wazzu should grab. Born in Missoula, played at EWU, excels in middle of nowhere locales. Took CMU from 1-11 to within a play of the MAC championship in one year. Went 13-3 SEC years 1&2 at UF before getting fired in year 3. Home run hire.

I think this is a bad fit for the SEC. Playing Alabama, TAMU, and LSU every year this offense isn't going to do as well as the defense optional B12 or the PAC 12. They play big boy defense in the SEC.

This reads like a post from 2010, not 2020. SEC offenses have gotten a lot more explosive.

That works for me. CMU has gotten too good in the MAC.

Mississippi State? That’s a lateral move. I know the SEC fan boys will be lecturing me about all things SEC but not all SEC schools are created equal. If it was Tennessee even Arkansas, I could see the point. But Mississippi State? Leach could’ve done way better. Good luck battling for 5th place in the West Division.

Could he have done better? I'm not so sure. Big time programs aren't going to want to deal with his idiosyncrasies. There's a reason he's been stuck in Pullman all these years.

True. The guy is something else. Unless he knew Wazzu is getting hit by the NCAA and this was the perfect time to get out. Who knows.
Mississippi State is one of those schools that are lucky they got to be associated with the right schools decades ago otherwise they wouldn’t be in a P5 conference. Not picking on the school in Starkville. I think the same about Oregon State, Washington State, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Wake Forest, Boston College and a few others.

Uh, no. Leach's Air Raid worked pretty damn well at Kentucky.

Keep putting up those witticisms, Leach. Make the bucks and become an announcer. You don't deserve it, though.

I'd love to see him as an announcer but I figure it wouldn't be too long before he pissed the wrong person off and got fired. Mike make sure you get a guaranteed contract if you go into announcing.

Looks line Hawaii coach Rolovich is the next WSU coach.
Sucks for Hawaii. Hopefully they can get somebody like Rolo to keep the mo going.
