Hoke is the guy that really turned the program around iirc. Should be interesting to see how he'll change from Michigan.

Hoke is a good guy hope he does well.
His biggest problem was following Rich Rod.

Were second parts ever good?

Rocky Long is a good coach if you’re coaching at a place where going 7-5 or 8-4 is good enough (think of when he was coaching at New Mexico) but he won’t be good enough for consistent top 25 rankings or a NY6 bid on the line. It is what it is. Hoke did good at Ball State and Cal State-San Diego but it’s to be seen if he still has his mojo.

Rocky Long is the best Aztec coach of the last 40 years, bar none. They will build a statue of him.

Bill Snyder at KSU was good in 2nd part.

Rocky was a great defensive HC but offence in most years just was not there. I wish him well. Anyone know where he will go or what he will do? I believe he is in his late 60's.

Under one scenario, Rocky Long could remain with Aztecs as defensive coordinator

San Diego State holds the second longest active bowl streak among G5 schools. He posted 9 consecutive winning records, the last coach to post consecutive winning seasons at SDSU was Ted Tollner in 1995 and 1996.

Arguably best run since Don Coryell was coaching and John Madden was his DC.

Interesting thing about Hoke. He got fired in 2014, 2016, 2017, and 2018. He missed out on 2015 but not having a coaching job to be fired from.
