So we have an important division home game the same day as the Iron Bowl

After that shutout by LA Tech, of all teams,the U will take it out on us.

Does any G5 Bama teams wanted to play us? (UNA or Tuskegee perhaps?)

Not a good move to get the crowds there. Tough weekend with Thanksgiving and Iron Bowl parties.

Sept 28th could be for all the marbles... To heck with the Iron Bowl,, Ill be at Legion Field watching our Blazers.

Me too, but the casual fan (which we need/depend on) will not. Hopefully they move this game to Friday.

Dad usually goes to Marine Corp reunion on the first weekend of October. That’s when many of them were discharged from Vietnam. I may be the designated driver, as he’s getting up there in age and I worry if he’ll find his way back home.

I'd imagine a game or 2 will be moved due to TV but as Dawg said above, I'll be there at LF Nov 28th after all it will be our last regular season game there

I like that they've moved the So. Miss game to the end of the season. It was there for a few years, and gave it a nice end of the season rivalry weekend feel. I do wish they would move it to Friday though. It's a team people know that could generate interest, especially if the division is on the line. I could see a big turnout if we aren't going up against the Iron Bowl. That being said, I don't see that happening because I have no faith in our athletic department making good scheduling choices.

As far as it being the last game at Legion Field- maybe not. Hopefully we get an extra game the next week. Hosting the championship game would be a good sendoff to that dump.

Unless CUSA steps in I don't know the USM will help us get a larger home crowd for what may be a Western Division championship game...

In 2017, the UTEP game played on the same day as Iron Bowl. About 13k was announced attendance. It was Blaze Bobblehead Day and every fan walked away with multiple. I was there but man it was bad. Now, I realize Southern Miss is a better draw than UTEP, but we really don’t know to have home games on that day. Really hope it gets moved to Friday.

With today's cable TV coverage from Thursday night to Saturday night, avoiding someone's "rivalry game" somewhere is like trying to play dodgeball with a Gatling gun. UAB's appeal is a reasonably priced family friendly live game entertainment whenever we play. Not everyone can, or wants to, travel hours and miles to fight major crowds for a live game or watch one on TV at home. For those who do make that choice, there is not a lot UAB can do to compete. With today's personal smart phone technology though, the latter can do BOTH.

Knowing C-USA they'll move it at the same time as the Iron Bowl.
