Exclamation Ranking all 39 college football bowl games for 2019-20 from worst to best
https://www.cbssports.com/college-footba...t-to-best/

38. Birmingham Bowl (22) -- Cincinnati 38, Boston College 6: What's better than a 32-point blowout that never even pretended to be interesting? How about a 32-point blowout that also featured a weather delay? Seriously, there were reports that Boston College didn't want to continue the game following the delay, and though BC denied those reports, the way it played on the field afterward confirmed them.

30. New Orleans Bowl (15) -- Appalachian State 31, UAB 17: This was a slightly more exciting version of the Armed Forces Bowl. UAB jumped out to a 14-0 lead and then stopped doing anything, allowing Appalachian State to score 31 points and get the win. The only excitement was the spread (-16.5), as it was possible the Mountaineers would not only pull off a big comeback but cover a large spread while doing so in the process. They didn't. UAB still covered. I'm not sure how much solace the Blazers took in that.

Overall trash list. LSU game is at #17...uh...what? That game was over in the first 2 minutes.

True, but it did feature the Heisman winner putting on a freaking clinic, and there's some entertainment value in that.

RE: Ranking all 39 college football bowl games for 2019-20 from worst to best
Bowl games have ALWAYS supposed to be about only matching up two fairly equal teams who didn't play in the regular season. Now four of the P5's top teams get to win a largely mythical Nation Championship while rendering all other bowl games largely irrelevant to that goal. Of the 130 FBS teams, only (usually the same) half dozen have a chance to play for the NC.

CBS ranking stuff when they are competing with ESPN on the bowl games.

Sure. No bias there.

I didn’t see much promotion on the N.O. Bowl. It may have had some effect on the ratings. Even New Orleans itself had plenty of signage and tv spots for the Sugar Bowl. But none for the N.O Bowl. A few of the local folks that I ran into did not even know that the N.O. Bowl was that weekend.

More $$$ from visitors for the Sugar Bowl and National championship game than the game with two G5 teams.

Obviously, but it seems that they should have at least made a feeble effort to promote it.

Literally no one expected us to have a shot in the bowl. I imagine ratings shot up when we went up 14-0, then dropped when App state got going. It’s like watching the opening segment of a WWE show and cutting it off after a 15 minute promo, already know what’s gonna happen beyond that.
