Sadly you were right about the streak being extended, and optimistic about the point margin.
My memory is that Benny Moss's longest losing streak was 10 games. I believe that Buzz Peterson had a 14 game losing streak, the school record.
Did either of them ever lose an entire CAA regular season?
Additionally, there were better teams in the CAA back then too.
I firmly believe that both of those coaches would wipe the floor with McGrath.

My friend broadcasts many sports for Texas-Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). They're 2-10 against Division I, but they're tied for the second biggest favorite today because they're hosting Chicago State, who is arguable the worst team. They're second-to-last in the NET, second-to-last in the Sagarin, and last in KenPom. UTRGV is favored by 19, and KenPom thinks UTRGV is 22.41 better without home court. The only bigger favorite is Duke by 19.5, and that's out of 145 games. Including today's games that are over, KenPom thinks Drexel is 0.26 better than UTRGV. You wouldn't be 19 point underdogs at Drexel. Chicago State is 1-14 vs. Division I, with half of their losses by at least 32 and only two by single-digits which were by 6 and 9. Their Division I win is at SIU-Edwardsville, who is 2-13 vs. Division I and 14th worst of 353 in the NET. In games at Purdue, Florida State, and Missouri, Chicago State lost by a combined score of 297-138, which is an average of 99-46.

Towson in 2010-2011 is the only team to go winless in CAA games. The CAA got three bids for the only time including VCU going to the Final Four, and Hofstra had Charles Jenkins score over 2,500 to finish second in CAA history behind David Robinson and get drafted. Towson only had 1 game against George Mason and VCU that season.

My point was that you're not the worst team in Division I, but as a Hofstra fan, I'm hoping for an easy win with bench players at the end to give the starters a little more rest before going Charleston.

Thanks for the summary. Makes sense. I don’t blame you. At this rate even Elon can rest their starters down the stretch.

I love those yellow uniforms.
Hopefully the baseball team can make up for this MBB team.
