Monday Musings
Happy 2019. The Basketball team loses decisively to the league favorite at home killing any optimism going into the MAC schedule..

oh wait its 2020 and the same thing happened. With School President Court side the a lethargic effort early caused a big hole that just got bigger. I think sooner then later we may need a new style of play to wake up the sleepy fan base.
I want a run and gun team someone that may give up 85 but trying to score 90 and that is because I am selfish and want to see up and down game.
On a positive note Ypsilanti is growing with new restaurants everywhere! If you have not dined out in the community lately you are missing out!
One question for the gang.
How many scholarships do we have open for football?

Regarding restaurants, what is going in at the corner of Michigan and Huron?

RE: Monday Musings
I was always the same way; wanting a run-and-gun team that could shoot, but might struggle defensively. As a die hard Pistons fan, I can tell you that it is just as frustrating, if not more, watching the opposing team score at will at the basket. The Pistons assembled a roster that can shoot, run, and is genuinely fun to watch with the ball. But they have zero interior presence on the defensive end, unless Andre Drummond cares that particular night. Scoring 110 points is fun, but seeing the opponent score 120 is not.

Murphy brought in a defensive system that works perfectly for this level, and it’s fun to watch when it’s humming. But the fact that we haven’t had a competent offense in 9 years is beyond frustrating, I agree. So many “what if’s” over his tenure. That 2013/14 team could’ve easily won 14 or 15 conference games, but only won 10 for that exact reason. I’ll never understand why they don’t practice offense, or why everyone looks clueless on that end every single game, but I’m fairly confident it would drive us more crazy if they looked like that on defense. People would be questioning the effort of the players, rather than just poor coaching.

RE: Monday Musings
Today is the first day of winter semester.

Obviously this has implications for any athlete wanting to transfer for 2nd semester.
