He rolled in 2 bombs on the last 2 holes that made him an extra $210k. This putt on #17 was insane:

I three-putted 7 out of 8 holes when I played on Saturday. Two putts are pretty good.

Mackenzie Hughes has moved up into the Top 100 on the OWGR, I think for the first time ever.

Taylor Pendrith sits at -11, 1 shot back of the leader on the Koran Ferry Tour heading into Saturday’s final round. Chase Johnson was in second place after two round but a thee over 75 dropped him to 20th, seven shots back.

Mac Hughes and Corey Connors took the holiday week off the PGA Tour. (July 1– Canada Day)

Chase is smokin’! He’s -5 thru 8, now two back. Go Flashes! Pendrith still 1 back early in his round.

Well, that was an amazing round given how tough that course is. Chase Johnson just shot a best in tournament 63 and is tied for 1st. A lot of golfer are still out including Pendrith who is 1 shot behind in third. Honestly, -14 might win this. I think only Pendrith and Zalatoris have a realistic shot of being at -14 at the end (or better).

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
Well, I was right. Zalatoris got another birdie and won and no one else got to Johnson, who finished solo 2nd (very important since Johnson's status is fringe and this will move him up the reorders so he will be able to get into tournaments). Pendrith did a bogey-birdie thing and finished tied for 3rd.

On the very plus side, both Johnson (25th) and Pendrith (26th) move way up the food chain, making a shot at the PGA Tour more realistic whenever they get around to redoing it (not sure, but I think it won't be until the end of the 2021 season).

Taylor Pendrith sits 2 shots back entering the 3rd round today in San Antonio. This is a great opportunity to move up into the top 25, which is the benchmark on the Korn Ferry Tour.

He's four shots back in solo third after the third round. Lipsky is ahead of him and he is really good (two time winner on the European Tour), but things happen.

I think the Top 25 benchmark is out this year and you have to be Top 10. Things are really frozen up because of the COVID. It means golfers that don't belong on the PGA Tour will be there longer and golfers that deserve to be there will be hitting the Korn Ferry Tour even longer.

I didn't think Lipsky would buckle under pressure and he didn't, so Taylor really was never in contention, but 2nd place is a bunch of points. I think we're seeing the healthy Taylor Pendrith again in the last two years and the golfer that is capable of being on the PGA Tour.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
Taylor Pendrith was in contention today, tied for first on the back 9, but he was a few groups ahead and Davis Riley birdied 16 and 18 to win by two. Pendrith finished tied for 2nd, which means, in the last three weeks, he has finished tied for 3rd, solo 2nd, and tied for 2nd. That is amazing.

He’s up to third on the Korn Ferry rankings.

In the bigs, Mackenzie Hughes is tied for 9th going into the final round tomorrow. Conners is tied for 45th.

Mac Hughes shot a solid even par round today under extreme conditions to finish in a tie for 6th, but most importantly, earned a spot in the US Open.

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
Anyone know how the korn ferry priority week to week works. It looks like Chase Johnson wasn't in field last week. I checked the Monday qualifier and it looked like he tried (and didn't make it that route). But if he is in the top 30 season long points list wouldn't he have priority or I thought I read his high finish a few weeks back let him pick his schedule?

RE: Kent Golfers in the Pros - 2020 Edition
If you’ll tolerate that I might not have every detail correct, this is my rough understanding.

For the Korn Ferry, after Q School, there is a priority list of over 200 golfers that are eligible to play. This year, Taylor Pendrith was roughly in the middle of the list based on his Q School performance and finishing in the Top 5 of the Mackenzie Tour last year. Chase Johnson was near the bottom of that list and likely wouldn’t get any opportunities to play if not for the pandemic keeping many foreign golfers off the Korn Ferry Tour. During the year, they do reordering based on how the golfers actually perform and, hence, if you are doing well, you will get into tournaments and, if you are not, you find yourself going further down the list.

In Taylor Pendrith’s case, getting off to a good (not necessarily great, but good) start is important because you can find yourself too far down the list to get into tournaments by the end of the year. He did and will keep playing. In Chase Johnson’s case, he has to wait until the next reorder (they don’t do this after every tournament) and he’ll be far enough up the list to get into whatever Korn Ferry tournament he wants to. But, for now, he needs to wait. So, after the 2nd place finish, he got into the next tournament based on finishing in the Top 25 (I think that’s the number), the previous week, but, for this week, he was too far down the list and had to try to Monday qualify.

In summary, once they reorder again, Johnson will get to play as much as he wants to for the rest of the year.
