Just poking fun at the thread becasue UAB and others have been kicked around so much. Your thread is just fine...oh, and welcome to the board.
Isn't it surprising that Birmingham has the largest TV viewers in the entire country for College Football? Are they all Bama fans? lol
Bunch of em are. They seem to be Bama fans first---then SEC fans second. The new stadium will be very nice. Unfortunately, UAB football has had its troubles drawing much support from Birmingham.
There was a wonderful burst of support that saved the program when it was temporarily killed a few years ago----but the way UAB football attendance slowly trended downward over the course of a division winning 9-win 2019 season is troubling if you are looking at UAB's long term support potential.
24, 736 avg is perfectly acceptable given their home schedule.

Their 4 CUSA home games this year averaged 20,314. Thats for a 9 win team that won its division and went to the conference CCG. The last home game attendance was 18,346. What will it look like when UAB is 6-6 or 3-9? Thats not what we need to be looking for in a #12 football team. As Ive said before, you dont build a conference by adding teams that look like the bottom of your conference. You build it, by adding teams that look like the top (or at least the middle) of your conference.
True...but come on...it is much better than what they used to have when we were both a part of CUSA...like 6 or 7 people in total. I'm thinking that they just didn't have cars to get to the stadium, and those that used public transport got robbed.
