2020 Football OCC Schedule
Seriously cannot wait for football to start next Fall. OCC schedule looks like:

Rhode Island (Home)- Sept 5
Maryland (Away)- Sept 12
Iowa (Away)- Sept 26
BYU (Home)- Oct 24

If the team gels, all winnable games save for maybe Iowa. Man, I would love to go into Iowa City and give them a thumping. BYU game at home has potential to be epic if somehow we go into it with 1 loss or less. The Hampton Inn in DeKalb is already sold out for rooms for the BYU game. I am sure their fan base will travel well and likely gobbled up these rooms. I thought I was ahead of the game getting a room that night, but I guess not.03-weeping

In an optimistic mode right now without anything to back it up, but how about a year for the ages next year! LFG Huskies!

Looks like I make a road trip for the BYU game. I was at the Akron game this game this year, what nightmare weather.

I'll be at the Maryland game.

Since we played that first Iowa game at Soldier Field (2007 season?) seems like we've played Iowa a ton since then. They really like playing us.

Checking out the Maryland recruits. Damn. I thought they were a poor B1G team but 2020 #28 recruiting in the country with a .991 WR who is the #2 overall WR.

Maryland reminds me a lot of Tennessee. Both seem to recruit well, Tennessee is usually top 20 in recruiting, but both made mistakes of firing (or forcing them to resign) good, established head coaches (Phil Fulmer of Tennessee and Ralph Friedgen of Maryland) and have never recovered since. Fulmer won a National Championship at Tennessee and Friedgen won 9 games and finished with a bowl win and national ranking the year they forced him out.

All the home games had nightmare weather last season. I do not remember any previous season were the Huskies had a perfect record for bad weather at home.

RE: 2020 Football OCC Schedule
Trying to schedule an annual weekend trip with Huskie friends, but do not want to until the football schedule comes out. I cannot stand missing any games.

That said, does anyone know when our final schedule comes out historically? Do you think it is possible we could be playing MAC opener on Sept 19 or will this likely be a bye week.

Appreciate the feedback. Thx

Last year the MAC announced schedule on 2/20.

That 9/19 date could be the Bye week same as last year. Last year it separated Utah and Vandy. This year it’s between Maryland and Iowa.

While the bye is a nice break between the BIG road games...Much rather have another Saturday afternoon September game in Huskie Stadium which are tough to come by.

RE: 2020 Football OCC Schedule
Last year had 14 weeks. This year has 13. So NIU should be playing a MAC game 9/19.

My guess:
9/19 @EMU
10/3 MAC
10/10 MAC
10/17 MAC
10/31 Bye
4 November Weeknight games

Thanks- any feel if we do play MAC opener on 19th if it would be home or away?

It would be @EMU. The other 10 teams play an OOC game that date.

NIU and EMU have OOC games on 10/24 and 10/17. I think the MAC will give both 10/31 off to open the 4 November weeknights for ESPN/CBSSN.

I also think both schools will push for that scenario. Neither wants to play Saturday 10/31 and then again 5 days later on Thursday 11/5. Plus EMU will want another September home game before cold weather kicks in.
