HAPPY NEW YEAR

Think maybe Candle is having trouble finding coaches who want to sign on to his train wreck?

Hell. No.

And 2 seasons that are a combined 13-12 is no where near a train wreck.

May not be a train wreck, but no where near “ Building Champions “ material... But hey, I guess raking in the best recruiting classes year after year should build a foundation for something...

Or for someone else to coach in a year or two when Candle is let go.

I prefer he leave with a 7 figure contract in hand.

I'm a bit excited about the prospects of new coaches on the staff. It had to happen. I don't think I was the only one considering whether or not to purchase season tickets.

give Matt Canada a shot he is not working after finishing last season as the interim HC at Maryland. He is in Indy waiting for a call. Since 2010 he has been OC at Indiana, NIU,Wisconsin,NC St, Pittsburgh, LSU & then Maryland. He finished 5-7 as MD HC.

I think that is a great idea but he is probably out of our price range

Yikes! 7 schools in 9 years? I'd have to hear a lot of good reasons how that happened. Kind of hard to believe someone could change OC positions that often without there being something more behind each stop along the way.

Enough with retreads and MAC ties.....

Go get position coaches from P5 programs for both coordinator positions. Given UT's reputation as both a Top 10 G5 team AND for promoting from within, I'd hope we could do quite a bit better than Enos

Rumors swirling, nothing affirmative yet, should have an announcement sooner rather than later.

So can we up the salary for a DC/LB'er Coach?

That's what I was thinking, too.

As far as OC, it seemed like Candle's start at it was a little rough, but he got to be pretty good at it; so I like the idea of him sharing OC with the new guy from FL. Not withstanding, the issues with the OL must be addressed, otherwise I don't see how we're going to be much more successful next year.

Ball St's OC/QB Coach Joey Lynch is going to assume the same position at Colorado St.

Good. Maybe we hold them under 50 next year.

Colorado St visits the GB in 2021.

We should pay the head coach 500K. Then we would have plenty for assistants. There are plenty of IAA head coaches making in the 300K range that would jump at the job, let alone DIII coaches like the guy at Buffalo who is kicking our butt.
