Really though - it's only been 2 weeks and I need my football fix. Last year, the spring game was April 13.. I'd imagine spring practices start in early to mid-March?

edit: looks like Local 12 had coverage (shocking) of the first spring practice last year and it was March 8. 7 more weeks.

This is why I follow football recruiting as much as I do. Recruiting is basically like fantasy football, and it allows me to focus on football beyond the regular season. NSD is in February, and before you know it the guys will be back practicing come March for the Spring Game in April (and to throw them a plug, to get the football fix it is good to sign up for BCJ so you can get all the practice reports).

From Espn's breakout players for 2020 for top 25 teams:

17. Cincinnati Bearcats: WR Alec Pierce
The sophomore had an up-and-down first campaign, but the potential was obvious: Pierce caught four balls for 93 yards against Ohio State, six for 108 against Marshall and nine for 164 in two games against Memphis. He averaged an explosive 17.6 yards per catch for the season. With two of Cincy's top three targets graduating (tight end Josiah Deguara and wideout Rashad Medaris), Pierce will be asked to shoulder a steadier load. -- Connelly

Yep. Pierce just needs better balls thrown to him, either from Ridder or somebody else.

Agree. Just because he is capable of spectacular contested catches, doesn’t mean every catch has to be one. Most of those were contested due to poor accuracy.

I have defended Ridder plenty of times because I suspected he was injured but honestly Pierce would've had AT LEAST 10 touchdowns on the year with better passes.

Pierce could be a 1000 yard receiver with the right QB. He's insanely athletic.

Hope so. I'll feel better about 2020 when a contract extension is announced for Fickell and his coaching staff.

RE: Thoughts on 2020 Football
Speaking of the contract extension.. are there any new rumblings with this regarding Fickell and/or Freeman contracts? I know BCJ has their opinions on what's likely but have been very out front saying it's only an opinion.

I assume if something gets done, they'd like to have it done before spring ball /start of the 2020 season starts up. We'll probably hear something sometime after Feb 5 (National Signing Day) and before spring ball starts up in mid-March?

RE: Thoughts on 2020 Football
Anyone hearing anything if Wilson Huber is still converting to the inside lb he played at in the bowl. Believe he played it in high school:

"Wilson Huber, the sophomore tight end who previously wore No. 82, changed to No. 2 and played a series at linebacker in the second quarter. Huber entered Thursday tied with a team-high seven special teams tackles and spent time during bowl practices on defense."

I thoughy maybe with Noah Davis transferring in from MSU that was an indication he definitely was going to lb. Malick Mbodji is still uncommitted on the transfer portal. Not sure what is going on there, but i would guess it settles before spring practice.
