Delaware
We evened out conference record up at 1-1 by squeaking by arguably the worst team in the conference. We finish this early home stand with our bitter rivals coming to town to start the new year. Delaware led a large portion against CofC before collapsing and losing by 12. Delaware has looked good so far and they are now a couple games into getting their Villanova transfer eligible. Are we up to the challenge? Can we hold serve at home? Can we show any consistency from game to game?

Cam bailed us out against UNCW and has looked the part, but we need more than just Cam. We need to defend well and not give lots of open looks for 3. Delaware will make us pay for those. We also need to take care of the ball. UNCW did not make us pay for our turnovers, Delaware likely will. If we want to be taken remotely seriously as a contending team we need to beat our rival at home.

I have not seen it yet out of this team.

Sucks- 84
Drexel- 74

RE: Delaware
Delaware got worse. After a 9-0 (8-0 vs. Division I start), they are 2-4 in their last 6 games. Losing by 12 to Charleston os okay and by 8 to Villanova is good, but they lost to George Washington (230th in the NET) and Long Island (260th in the NET). Their wins in that span are over UNCW yesterday and by 8 over Delaware State, who is winless vs. Division I and lost to NAIA Washington Adventist last night. I'm not saying you'll win, but you have a chance. If I use dan10's prediction of Delaware -10 as the spread, I pick you against the spread. The Sagarin thinks it's even when including home court, with Delaware better by 0.39 (Overall), 0.55 (Predictor), and 1.42 (Golden_Mean), and you better by 0.80 (Recent). I give Delaware a 20 to 25 percent chance at winning by double-digits.

In another topic you said that a start worse than 4-2 likely means a finish around eighth. Let's say you lose hosting Delaware, lose at Towson, win at JMU, and win hosting Elon to start 3-3. UNCW and Elon are the most likely bottom two, and I'll guess your chances of finishing ahead of anyone else in that case:

Middle six: hosting W&M, at NU, at HU, at UD, hosting JMU, hosting TU
You'll be underdogs for all three away games. If you lose them and win 2 of 3 at home, you'll be 2-4 for that part and 5-7 total.

Last six: at W&M, at EU, hosting HU, hosting NU, at UNCW, at CofC
You should win at EU and lose at CofC. The other games are more likely to be losses than wins, but you should win at least 1. Let's say you go 2-4 for hat part and 7-11 overall.

Of the 11 teams who ever went 7-11 when the CAA had ten teams, 7 of 11 were seeded seventh or better. Of the 4 seeded eighth, 2 were 1 game behind seventh who was 8-10, 1 was the worst in a three-way tie for sixth through eighth, and 1 lost a two-way tie for seventh. A 7-11 team has never been seeded ninth or tenth of ten.

Sounds about right. Though I'm sure it's extremely rare for Drexel to be an underdog at home against Delaware.

W&M with the shocker last night absolutely pounding Hofstra in Hempstead. Elon keeps hanging tough with everyone, which is also surprising. Just shows how open this conference is this season.

I've just been scoreboard checking since I can't watch the game right now. Is Sucks just missing everything or did Drexel play incredible defense that last part of the first half? I know it's probably a bit of both but curious if it means one way. Definitely not the halftime scoreline I would have predicted.

61-55 Drexel wins! 2-1 on our homestand was needed. Struggled some with FT's down the stretch but still held on. Always great to beat sucks. Cam is carrying us on offense right now

RE: Delaware
Most fun I've had at the DAC all season. Lively crowd tonight. Great turnout by Delaware and the Ingelsby family. The visitors comp section and Section 2 were packed tonight. Great job by the Dragons tonight by keeping them quiet for most of the game. They showed up in big numbers riding their 11-4 record and were ready to explode and rub it in. Good thing that didn't happen.

I have been back and forth on this team all season. I really don't know what to make of them. I'm glad to see that they're finally playing defense. Turnovers weren't as bad as in some other games.

Does anybody have a take on what Drexel is trying to do on offense. EVERY POSSESSION is winding down to the final seconds of the shot clock. And in many of those possessions, they are in panic mode. Wynter has bailed them out of quite a few of them with some incredible shots. Is this the plan now to hold the ball more on offense, and limit the time that their opponent has the ball?
