Exclamation New asst Football coaches thread
David Glidden hired as tight end coach. He spent last season as the quality control coordinator. Similar hire as Tony Tokarz last season young offensive minded coach.

Reggie Howard named director of high school relations

Huge news here

OL, DB are guaranteed to fill
DC is a maybe
All reports I've seen have said Kevin John's is staying at OC

Reginald Clement Howard (born May 17, 1977 in Memphis, Tennessee) is a former American football cornerback in the National Football League. He played college football at the University of Memphis. He played for the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers. He intercepted Tom Brady in Super Bowl XXXVIII during his tenure with the Panthers, however the Panthers lost the game 32–29.

Howard is currently the President and Executive Director of the AAG Foundation, a non-profit organization that empowers athletes to impact communities through education and social development.

RS mentioned a big time defensive coach with a huge NFL name, former NFL HC who wanted to join his staff. Have no clue if he can coach but huge name. Somewhat of a local tie in.

Hearing that special teams coordinator Pete Lembo is staying at Memphis. And a lot, a lot of big time defensive coordinators have been reaching out to Silverfield about joining him in Memphis.

since the tweet is from Jonah Jordan I assume that this means that they have worked at an sec school in the past....possibly as a grad assistant at utk

take it for what it's worth, but Leslie Frazier checks all of these boxes. he's crushing it with the Bills currently. Hard to imagine him leaving. i'm a vikings fan and absolutely hated him as our HC but loved him as DC

RE: New asst coaches thread
I know I am missing a few, but all you have to do is look at what our assistants have done and it is easy to see why everyone would want to work here. What is even more remarkable is how assistants with little experience have become offensive or defensive coordinators here and after as little as 1-2 years have parlayed that into a P5 job, often with a promotion.

OFFENSE
Dickey - Texas A&M OC
Cornelson - Virginia Tech
Vice - Virginia Tech
Long - Notre Dame OC
Silverfield - HC
Dillingham - FSU OC
Johnson - Tennessee
Hall - Tulane OC

DEFENSE
Odom - Missouri HC
Fuller - FSU DC
Ball - Northern Arizona HC
Lanning - Georgia DC
Lorig - Penn State
Randolph - Texas Tech
Woodson - Auburn

Getting literally ANY job on our staff is almost a guarantee of being promoted here then moving on to a P5 or moving from OC/DC here to a similar job at a P5 school. It is like winning the lottery. The short amount of time it took for Silverfield, Long, Lanning, Dillingham and Hall to improve their status are all especially remarkable.

Mark Helfrich was let go by the Bears today. Last coached in college at Oregon. Would love to have him as OC and would obviously bring recruiting ties to West Coast.
