Starting to look like 8-3 could be a very real possibility, assuming we don't drop any games we should win, or 9-2 if we can beat Coastal.

Do we win either of the remaining ACC games? I haven't seen any of their games.

They are both looking very good. I’m not sold on CCU. They are good but I think we stand a much better chance with them. I’d say NCST is looking more likely than VT.

So basically VT is likely when the undefeated season ends, NC State could be an unlikely win, & CCU is a toss-up?

I think it goes like this:

USM W 38-24 Trap game
VT L 40-21 Hooker gives us fits
WCU W 52-17 FCS easy win
NCSU L 31-30 we could win but depth will beat us
UMASS W 63-10 complete rebuild
CCU W 35-31 Willis is the xfactor they’ve had issues with Mobile qbs

Great! Happy to play UMass this season. We could use the late season momentum (assuming we win).

NC State may be missing their starting quarterback.

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
NCSU will probably try and get Leary a medical redshirt. I doubt we see him back this season. QB backup is good but no Leary. However, Leary was held out during Covid-19 issue so Hockman has a bunch of workouts with 1st string. He is a good passer but NCSU will likely be using their great depth at RB as the primary option for the season.

This is a small thing, but I am very happy that 6 games through the season our helmet decal has been consistent and the same “LU.” Yes, we’ve changed helmet color and I’m good with that.

What do you mean? Why would it change? I hope we will expand a bit in the near future when the brand grows nationally(other school colors for alternative uniforms for special occasionally) and the use of past decals and future innovative ones that can connect both the older and younger generation support base.

We did have that ugly ‘71 thing on the helmet a couple years ago. The previous LU logo with the horrible flaming sparky prior to the LU rebrand too. I never ever want a throw back that uses any of those but the super old one with Liberty in cursive would be neat.

Did anyone think that LU would crack the top 25 this season?

I thought we had a decent chance when half the schools weren't participating this season. Now that almost everyone is playing, I wouldn't have thought so.

I hope I'm wrong, but unless we blowout VT &/or other teams in the bottom of the Top 25 lose, I do think we get knocked out even with a win thanks to the Pathetic 12 starting this week with half of them being "undefeated" after Saturday. 03-puke

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
I think as long as we win we’ll stay in and keep rising. Our schedule the rest of the season is pretty tough. One ranked opponent, two that are receiving votes, and two bad teams.

If we stay undefeated through NC State, we definitely would get put back in, but knowing the pathetic voting record of some of these folks, it won't take much to replace "obscure" Liberty for a "Power" 5 Pathetic 12 team.

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
The PAC 12 already has two teams ranked at 0-0, so I'm doubtful this week could have an impact on our standing if we win. Since there are not any OOC games, they don't have the ability to knock off a ranked team and jump in, unless they do it to their own conference member and probably just swap places.

If we win this week we solidify our spot. I doubt we win to even make this a thing.

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
A bunch of debbie downers here lol. Tech has not been this great this season. Syracuse had ACC players too and LU played their. You can have good players but if they're not good coaches, that doesn't help a team win. Tech can be challenging but we can definitely win this game if we go in there mentally stable. Plus, there's not a big crowd to help boost morale. Anything is possible this upcoming Saturday.

Can we win? Sure, but realistically this is a much better team than CUSE. They recruit better, they have a great qb and they aren’t missing nearly the amount of players CUSE was. We can win but I doubt we do it.
