Not sure you will be able to. But the good news is that we are in unchartered water and who knows what will happen to the bowls this year. If I am not mistaken, CA has cancelled all fall sports.

That surprised me too. I'm thinking a win over SM or WKU and a loss against NCSU.

I agree with you both. NC State was close to a 10-win team a couple years ago before a rebuilding year last year, right? Their coach was in on a lot of SEC vacancies but didn't get the jobs. They've been producing a good amount of NFL talent lately.

You must not have watched the game against UNC.

Just for fun talking, what if we made a negotiation with Navy's athletic department and established a home for home game(we go to them this season and they come to us later in the 2020's). If we make a deal, we can then buy out the NC A&T game. This would strengthen or schedule and it would be best to keep the Western Carolina game later in the season for our players to have an easier game (to re-group and heal up). What do you guys think?

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
Getting a home-home agreement with Navy is a great series but they don't have an OOC opening until 2024. Plus we'd only have 5 home games if we replaced our September 12th home game with an away game at Navy. They would likely be in the same boat (no pun intended) if they traveled here that week. I like the idea but we don't work as a pair. Also, our game is against NC A&T who is a HBCU right? That would continue to destroy our optics if we cancelled that opponent. Imagine the PR.

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
ESPN ranks LU's 2020 schedule as 119 out of 130.

Their FPI ranking is on the left and their strength of schedule is on the right.

18. Virginia Tech (57)
77. NC State (55)
81. Western Kentucky (91)
88. Syracuse (60)
90. Southern Miss (103)
119. FIU (111)
120. UL Monroe (81)
124. UConn (88)
127. Bowling Green (86)
130. UMass (99)
NR North Carolina A&T
NR Western Carolina

https://www.aseaofred.com/espn-fpi-proje...e-ranking/

Having two FCS teams did not help with the SOS. Thankfully, this is the last year of two FCS teams on the schedule. Although, LU is one of the few G5 teams that plays against three P5 teams in 2020. I do not view a weaker SOS as a bad thing for this particular year. The team still needs another year or two of recruiting FBS level players. Edit: this is because the team still has some FCS level type of players.

I agree with you. Freeze has always been a recruiter. Let him work his magic but his hands may be tied a little bit by Jerry thanks to Jerry's recent comments.

RE: 2020 FOOTBALL SEASON
The Big Ten will announce they will only be playing conference games this fall. It doesn't directly affect us, but the ACC and PAC 12 are rumored to follow suit. We play Virginia Tech but if all conferences go this direction, we could be in trouble.

Would playing UMass, UConn, and New Mexico State home and home make sense? I think BYU and Army would be tough to get a game with and Notre Dame would be nearly impossible. What if one of these decided against football? We'd be in a tough spot.
