More than half our plane out of Richmond was wearing purple. Since we barely made our flight to Frisco in '16 because of weather delays I upgraded our crew to Delta Comfort in '17. We landed late and did the Hartsfield Hustle to get to our connection. Only reason we made it was because we were one of the first folks off the plane. We were the last to board our connection and I told the flight attendant and the pilot we were the first of probably 50 trying to make the connection but they closed the door anyway. After that I will always give us at least a 90 minute connection for this trip.

+5 coming with me. 18 total Dukes rooting in our group.

Hartsville and Delta are the worst for connections.

Very happy to be able to fly direct out of DCA. But I’m doing San Antonio in February so this is useful info for that trip.

Having spent more time in the Richmond and Charlotte airports than I care to talk about......either check a bag (if your stuff doesn't get there until the next day because it missed the connection it's not the end of the earth) or pack a small enough bag to be able to carry it on no matter how small your plane out of Richmond is. What will really mess you up is if you gate check your bag in Richmond and have to wait for it to come back to you planeside in Charlotte. Sit as far in the front of the plane as you can. You want to be able to get off the plane as quickly as you can and get moving.

Also check your gates. If you are staying on the same airline it can be very close but it can also mean running from one end of the airport to the other.

Best of luck!

I’ll be in Texas for 26ish hours so just bringing a backpack to Stowe underneath seat.

Hardcore! Gotta' be a Dukes fan!

NICE! I'm in TX for 13 hours... land at 7 AM and on the 8 PM flight back... guess I'm bringing one of those NCAA clear bags as my only carry on to have streamers, phone charger, and headphones.

I was late priority - just got tickets yesterday... better than not being there at all!

I'm not much better. I'm in at 5:30 PM Friday and out 5:30 PM Saturday, so 24 hours. Little time for celebrating in Texas for me.

If you are local, Walmart has JMU clear bags for about $7.

Golden rule of traveling. Don’t ever book a connecting flight without a minimum of a 90 minute layover. Just don’t do it.

Been a long time since I’ve posted... I’ll be sitting next to Duke Dawg just like in ‘Nooga with my little sister, class of ‘05. Like many, this will be my 3rd and hoping to keep the undefeated streak going. Can’t wait to see some friendly faces.

What are the designated JMU bars this year? Had a blast at Scruffy Duffies in 2017 but we gave it back to NDSU in 2018. I say we take it back this year. Who is with me???

I've never had a moment feel more like a movie than 3 of us walking into that bar in 2018 decked out in purple... I swear it was like the record scratching moment and the whole bar in green and yellow turning at once.

Went on to have a damn fun time there hanging out. Will definitely have to have some beverages with some Bison folk on Friday night.

I really do hope more of you you guys come over to Wild Pitch, Tight Ends, etc. than last time, our two fanbases would have a lot of fun together. And if you didn't have a good time that means you didn't want to have a good time (that goes for both Bison and Duke fans).

Most JMU fans don’t go to weird Texas Hooters when there’s other options. Sorry, it’ll just have to be the entire state of North Dakota and your lingerie servers.

Me and a few buddies wandered into Tight Ends last time. Appropriately named! But we did have a good time and the NDSU folks were good natured and fun to party with. Will be back next week!
