Willie Jackson Leading the Nation in Rebounding!
After this weekend's games, Willie Jackson is leading the nation in Total Rebounds with 151. He is also the leader in Defensive Rebounds with 110. He is second in Rebounds per game at 12.6. What makes this more impressive is that of all the Top 10 Individual Rebounders, everyone besides the 6-6 Jackson is 6-9 and above.

RE: Willie Jackson Leading the Nation in Rebounding!
Is that because of our team's bad shooting or the other teams'?

Willie Jackson sure is fun to watch this year and last. One of my favorites in a long time.

If he could have average 15-20 (with a consistant outside shot) points a-game, along with his rebounding, perhaps then a lottery pick, despite his size.

Not a draft pick at all. Game is limited, size won’t cut it in NBA. Even if he had a jumper.

He will probably have a nice Career in Europe though

RE: Willie Jackson Leading the Nation in Rebounding!
anyone can make it in the league if they are elite in something. jj barea is 5-10, slow, can't jump and like 38 years old. he plays on one of the league's better teams because he is an excellent playmaker w the ball in his hands. darvin ham was around willie jackson's size and had no shot whatsoever but he was a great dunking finisher and rebounder (the Ham Jam). willie would have to either develop into a strong defender or a reliable corner 3 shooter to add to his great rebounding. the issue is he's not a particularly good finisher despite his strength and jumping ability. he's also a bit heavy legged on defense and doesn't chop his feet and move well laterally. love watching him rebound tho

Good insight pono, you follow the game more religiously than I could ever do. Also, I don't watch the NBA.

i'm actually not too much of an NBA guy, but I like to watch those jj barea, earl boykins, scotty brooks type players. under 6 foot guys who are like great y players who somehow hang around the NBA forever. helps sustain my fantasy that being a pretty good 5-9 street ball player would somehow lead to glory, even though i'm mostly retired from the playground and ymca. darvin ham happened to play for the Bucks, the one nba team i follow with some passion. dude was maybe 6-5 with limited ball skills and no shot just loved to rebound, dunk and hustle and was strong enough to make space for himself on the court. remember charles oakley, starter for the bulls in their glory days. D2 player who was slow and couldn't jump and was a little undersized for nba power forward at about 6-7 230. but he was strong, knew position, could find a weakness to exploit on his opponent, knocked down the wide open mid range shot. there's a formula for getting a shot at the league -long, athletic, ball skills, a decent looking jump shot. but there's plenty of guys who don't fit the profile perfectly who make it. helps to be real tall, but it's not obligatory.

Hey Pono did you catch 6'1 Patrick Beverly's block on LeBron at the end of the game last night? Classic stuff. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/2837...adjustment
