People are just slot ranking from pre-season.

Ranked Team A loses to ranked Team B @ the beginning of the season so that is a good loss and they only drop a little. Ranked Team A loses to Unranked Team B then unranked team B gets ranked as long as they don't have any other bad losses.

But if you don't play any highly ranked teams and just continue to accumulate good wins it is a slow climb.

agreed. much like the NET and RPI it won't exactly be accurate until conference play really gets going.

Do think that WSU, UConn, and Memphis, will eventually prove to be among AAC’s best four teams.

Temple is in the mix as well to be the AAC’s best team, if Dre Perry (51.7 percent on three’s, 55.2 percent on two’s), Temple’s best shooter and probably player, averages at least 30 mpg, and he along with Alani Moore (40 percent on three’s), take Temple’s most fga's. Alani is also shooting 60 percent on three’s (12-20) in Temple’s last three games. Has most three-pointers made (2.7 three’s per game) than any other AAC player.

Alani Moore is one of the AAC’s best PG’s, as his non-shooting stats are off the chart. Has more steals than turnovers, and few personal fouls.

Houston needs to play better as a team to get into the mix. Has nice individual players.

And Houston knocks off “#21” Washington to win the Diamond Head tourney.
KenPom doesn’t think much of Washington (41) but it’s enough to move UH up one spot into their top 25.

Since all rankings are "relative," by definition, Wichita State should certainly be ranked relatively higher (relative to the top 15-20 teams).
