I feel like it’s an exponential danger curve, the closer you are to the front row and aisle. One of the few times middle section seats would be good.

I'd imagine you're probably fine as long as you're in a JMU section. If you're the only JMU fan in a sea of Bison and throwing streamers you'll be easy to pick out for some usher that wants to throw their weight around, plus might get Bison fans crying to the ushers.

The only time anyone has given me any trouble about it was at UNC, I was on the second row near the 50 with no other JMU fans around and ended up having an usher be super dramatic about it. I simply told her "Ok but this is literally the only place it's ever been an issue" then she went and got some security guard who threatened to throw me out and claimed that a fight broke out in another section after someone was hit by a streamer... Even if true, if someone starts a fight over a streamer hitting them it's pretty insane to blame the streamer.

Might not penalize the team, but...

All I’m saying is that last time there were a good portion of people who got scared out of enjoying streamers and I know they all regretted the goody two shoes approach when the stadium lit up with streamers after our first score. Have confidence that bringing streamers into a football game isn’t a bad thing.

Yeah as long as you’re around plenty of JMU fans and as long as tons of us are throwing them, I seriously doubt you’re gonna get picked out or anything. And as long as you aren’t getting them on to the field, there’s no way they’re gonna penalize the team. Hope for cold weather so we’re all bundled up and it’s easy to hide a ton of streamers, then bring in a ton of streamers!

Don’t throw them on the field or at NDSU players, and throw them as part of the JMU section of fans. Safety in numbers!

since you brought it up - way too early forecast currently calls for 58 and rainy. Hate to see 5 straight days of rain forecasted from Thu-Mon (granted, less than 50% chance each day)

better be buying purple ponchos, I hate that our fanbase has a tendency to show up in red or blue or black jackets... if it's showing, it needs to be purple

It's a stadium rule, not an NCAA rule. Hard to believe this is the 16th season for streamers. Time flies. When they first started I worried about penalties if they hit the field as well as them running on people if it rained. Well - streamers don't run if wet (package even says it), and they have never called a penalty for them and quite a few have hit many fields the last 16 years. Unless you're in the first couple rows, or it's real windy it's pretty hard to get on the field at least on the sides.

Yep. You 'da man, Dukester. I received many a streamer from the Dukester, passing them out from a cardboard box. The Godfather of Streamers, you deserve much credit. A tradition I hope never dies. Watching on TV, it is a very impressive sight to see the purple and gold streamers flying. Opposing teams hate it, because jealousy. Smelly Bisons wish they had something so cool.
