Careful. You might trigger the Toyota Stadium fan club. It's the greatest stadium and town ever, didn't you know?

I'm with you there, I've been there done it so many times, that frisco's a whore to me.
Cold and windy with brown grass don't impress me much.
Lets move this b*tch is Vegas or Orlando or somewhere.
it's literally 1 of the main reasons i want NDSU FBS.

Yes please, I'll buy my tickets and book my flight way ahead of time every year 04-cheers Big enough stadium to better accommodate NDSU/JMU/Montana/whoever else might actually travel well and being in Vegas might draw some people that normally wouldn't go even if those teams aren't there.

Can't believe he said Vegas or Orlando and people jumped on Orlando instead of Vegas, for shame.

I already go to Vegas far too often for my health/bank account/marital status.

Ha, I was more thinking about mega-cheap travel to Orlando. I’d definitely go to Vegas!

Vegas would be good if you can avoid the annual CES event there (Jan 7-Jan 10 this year). Some years I think this has overlapped with Frisco.

The weather is pleasant in Jan, but every hotel room is booked and prices are ultra peak during CES. CES strains the capacity there all by itself.

Convince your Bison buddies to complain and get the NCAA to move it to Orlando. That'd be amazing.

Yeah, whoever from Fargo got streamers banned needs to get this thing to Orlando. Clearly that person has the necessary pull.

Oh crap, i forgot about that, I better call susan tomorrow thanks ! :)

Somebody on AGS or Bisonville had laid claim to personally contacting the NCAA about the "danger" of the streamers and has taken credit for the ban.

Wow. You’re the first ndsu fan I’ve seen not defend Frisco as if it’s some lost city of Atlantis.

I don’t care about the location as much as the tiny stadium. FCS deserves a minimum 25k stadium. Demand also supports it.

Yep. After the CES you have the shot show around the 3rd week of Jan in Vegas:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SHOT_Show
Then around the 4th week in Jan the giant porn convention:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AVN_Adult_...nment_Expo

1st Jan weekend in Vegas would usually work, but never the 2nd on..

My cousin and I with the same birthday generally try to go around our birthday each year, always ends up being the rodeo and the Las Vegas Bowl. Couple years ago I happened to be on Fremont when Oregon then Boise State each had a pep rally there and that's what got me thinking how damn cool it'd be if that were JMU and NDSU instead.

Our friends at Hero Sports tend to fluff us up a bit, so I take this article from a "how good are we" standpoint with a grain of salt. That being said, if you're like me it tugged at the heart strings a bit because it really does capture quite well the ups an downs of the past two years.

Demand supported it one time, in 2017 but really that's pretty much all. Toyota stadium is incredibly average as a football facility. It could be better but it's surely not the worst.

How do you know this? The game has sold out every year except for 2010. That implies there is demand that exceeds the capacity.

Deez is probably trying to flip some August seats for too much money, ha

Demand is there this year, just not at the same price points as 2017 yet for some reason. Seats *are* still being bought off the market, and inventory is dropping. I’d estimate there remain about 500-800 on the secondary markets. Many are still selling 30-50% or more above original price, just not 300% or more. People listing seats for $600+ are crazy, but maybe they are holding out to see what happens after the NDSU allocation is done.

For anyone who wants to go “cheap” the best bet would be to book airfare and rooms now, then try to snag some of the SRO tickets or just show up and try to find a ticket in the parking lot - in past years this has been possible.

Edit/Note - if you are able to get enough seats for your group thru the JMU allocation, then that probably is even better than the SRO path. Those tend to be nice seats at prices below what the NCAA presale/general sale prices them at. I buy both ways because we have a largish travel party.

RE: National Championship JMU Versus NDSU January 11, 2020
My argument was that the size seems about right because it only "sold out" once in the last 3 years - when we and NDSU went, and even then tickets were for sale before the game. Seems NDSU hasn't had a problem getting it to capacity in 2015 and before, but like every other stadium in the country attendance is declining, and if this game is sold out I'll be impressed. JMURocks - I haven't checked but I'll agree that inventory is dropping, but new blocks of seats keep coming out from the NCAA so I don't know that it really is dropping that drastically. Tickets continue to hit the market: JMU got more today (so I assume NDSU got more too), SRO soon to be released, and NCAA will probably cough up some more seats they "found".... all of it (opinion to follow) because they are trying to line their pockets with as much $$ as possible and convey that sense of urgency that you must BUY NOW FOR THE SOLD OUT GAME. It'a an illusion. If you haven't made plans to go at this point, are you really going to go?

Book it: The game will be near capacity but it won't be sold out.
Almost book it: If you want to walk into the game 30 minutes before kickoff and want to buy a $50 ticket, you'll be able to.

The year we played Youngstown the attendance was 14,423. Did Youngstown bring 1,000 people? How many did JMU bring? It felt like a million but we were probably good for 10K fans that year and I think that's our FCS Natty attendance ceiling. I'd expect about 9K JMU fans this year, another 9K from NDSU, then some locals and I'll bet attendance barely touches 20K.

Not true. Since 2010, looks like 5 of 8 have been sellouts.
Pre construction 20.5k capacity:
2010 Not a sellout UD/EWU 13,027
2011 Sellout NDSU/SHSU 20,586
2012 Sellout NDSU/SHSU 21,411
2013 Not a sellout NDSU/TU 19,802
2014 Sellout NDSU/ILSU 20,918
2015 Sellout NDSU/JSU 21,836
Construction limited
*2016 Not a sellout JMU/YSU 14,423 (were reported 16k seats available)
2017 Sellout NDSU/JMU 19,090 (apparently only 18k+ seats available, 1k SRO)
Post construction supposedly back to 20.5k capacity.
2018 Not a sellout NDSU/EWU 17,802
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NCAA_Divis...ampionship

2016 were reports of not all tickets being scanned. Also several hundred (mostly JMU) who didn't make it due to flight delays/cancellations due to weather.
