Clamping down again. Spottsville, Dillard, and Montero have made a difference defensively. We really have to find a way to get points.

As usual Eastern sucks at shooting the three-ball. They are terrible at that. They must drive the paint every possession.

UNLV has 11 offensive rebounds according to the ESPN box score. Unacceptable.

Easily the worst offensive half of the year. Lucky to only be down 8. Nothing good to say, really. A solid defensive effort is being wasted by trash on offense. Groce and Toure look like they just woke up, Morgan and Montero are playing careless.

Not sure why we aren’t attacking the basket more. Hopefully we adjust.

We've been dominated on the backboards! We simply can't shoot the ball! This is embarrassing to witness! Murphy needs have us prepared to play like A D1 team!

Garbage. This team was not ready to play today. Did they hit the strip last night or something?

At least he can write books. What's that contract look like again? Do we have any hope? Will a 3-15 MAC record keep him around? That's where this is headed.

Shooting 25 percent on FG, and 50 percent on FT! This team looks atrocious! These are kids, so it's a coaches job to have them prepared to play! UNLV is not a great team either!

Nah. We will win 8 or 9 games and be right back where we started. This is just another typical Murphy team. Look like garbage on the road and against anyone with a shred of athleticism.

6-3 against a somewhat easier OOC schedule probably translates to a 9-9 MAC record. As you posted earlier, we were all expecting much worse given what we had returning. I am more than ready for conference play to start to see how this thing pans out...

Coming from the business world where you are heavily rewarded financially for performance, this sickens me to my stomach. Murph had a MAC preseason favorite team last year and when presented with a daunting OOC schedule, whined like a child about its difficulty and followed that with an embarrassing MAC performance. He fixed that this year by scheduling only MSU and now after beating Concordia HS he will enter the MAC schedule needing ONLY 10 wins to extend his contract for another year. 9-9 and a win in the first round of the MAC tourney is mediocre at best but it gets our coach another year.

I guess I should not complain. The coach has his players rehabbing homes, engaging special needs kids, and calling fans imploring them to attend games. Oh wait, that is our football coach.

Agree with Sam. The ceiling for Murphy is 9 wins in the conference and regardless of talent on our roster his system generates 7-9 MAC wins.

EMU has very good shooters, however, not many D1 players can shoot over top of D1 defenders. Murphy's offensive scheme is the reason for low offensive performance.

Dear Friends,
This team is going to be a repeat of last year. I tend to disagree a bit with Luckeyone in regards to good shooters. Everyone was praising the team early on with the good three point shooters we had, and especially waiting for Binelli who was supposed to be a gift to our offense. Well, we all know how that has not happened in the last couple of games. On top of that, this team cannot make free throws. Repeat of last year, losing games in the final minutes because they cannot hit them. For me, this team is making me lose interest.
Terrible playing.

RE: Game Week/DAY: @UNLV
We don't shoot free throws well.
We allow far too many offensive rebounds.
Our opponents shoot the three ball better.
We lack a half court offensive strategy.
As a result of the above we get obliterated by Power conf teams.

It's shocking, absolutely shocking I say. We have all seen this movie before, call it "Murphy Basketball", Groundhog Day or whatever. Dammit we are on a mission to prove Einstein wrong, we will continue to do what we have always done and someday we WILL get a different result. I am so sure this will happen that I propose extending Rob's contract through 2038, when he reaches the normal retirement age of 65. Albert, I am not insane.
