AC looked great and focused. Wade solid game, Oliver played okay. Alfis had a nice game no major mistakes. Ball movement was great. Lots of assists. Bad opponent but good to see a refreshed team full of more energy.

I just think that now everyone is going to be more involved. Not as much contemplating minutes either for the coaches. I almost think since everyone was in a different role with so many newer players it was hard to figure out who was going to play and when they were going to play. Looking forward to watching this team grow. This team needed a spark and I expect us to play better going forward. I know UMES sucks but even though we might not finish w a great record I’ll be supporting the team till the end. Mentality is everything. Chemistry is soo big in these collegiate team sports. Let’s everyone get on the same page and support the team. Go ODU.

AJ’s ability to score and play solid defense has taken the pressure off X to carry the team. There still may be hope for this team.

Aaron Carver: 16 points, 16 rebounds
A.J. Oliver II: 13 points, 7 rebounds
Jason Wade: 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists

AC leading the team in points in a game. He deserves that for as hard as he works.

Nice to see the Senior get the chance and take it in having a great game.

Jones was off the chain today with his cussing out the players. I’m not one to care much about him getting on them, but he looks like such a tool when he gets going. It’s not normal, I don’t care what anyone says. I’ve never seen someone seem so unhappy the entire game.

Hence why that plus other things made a couple of players leave. I too feel it is way over the top.

JJ court side actions has absolutely nothing to do about the two players leaving.

How can you be so certain that it played absolutely no part at all with them leaving, not even a small intangible part?

I have low expectations for this team in conference play. If they exceed them then I will be both happy and surprised.

DaBig has connections.

DaBigBlue is correct. If you don’t believe him ask Godwin and Dickins.

Carver with a monster game. His rock hands turned soft today and he was finishing, for the most part. I have to admit thought his 16 points snuck up on me. Green was less of a ball hog today. He passed on at least one wide open 3. I think if his 3 was a jump shot instead of a set shot he would have more opportunities. Wade was great in transition. Actually as a team we were much better in transition. Curry was more aggressive. Oliver had a nice score on a baseline drive. Greece had some really nice plays but he tries to do too much sometimes. Hunter got 12 minutes and seemed to make the best of it. Pilavios gave some solid minutes and I suspect that will continue going forward. Ezipke didn't foul out. That is an improvement. The rest of the bench got in with about 1:30 left. That was great to see. Overall it was a nice game against a not-so-great opponent.

I had a high school football coach during the 6th game of my senior year take me out of the game because I missed a tackle and hit me over the helmet with his clipboard in front of the whole world! I did not play another minute other than kicking the rest of the season by my own choice! I could never play for JJ!!!

So can someone just say what was up? Everyone is dancing around it but no one will say what happened. If it wasnt jj or playing time what was it?

He was mobile enough to get up and down the court, though probably not in an up-tempo affair. He was dunking in warmups. Now the big question is can that knee stand up against a 250 lb opponent. Even 2-3 mins a half to start CUSA play would be a bonus.

He looked very slow to me.

Hitting your players is another level, even if it is a clipboard. JJ doesn't hit his players. I understand if you think his yelling is excessive, but he would probably not be coaching anymore if he hit his players.

I am curious that you say you never played another minute, but it sounds like you stayed on the team and still played for him as a kicker. Did you think he wouldn't hit you if you were a kicker?

We had a coach that would throw a clipboard in the gym, like a Ninja death star. God help you if you went to sleep in his health class. He picked up a basketball on his desk. Everyone in the line of sight would just start parting like the Red Sea. Then he throws the ball, so hard it would knock you right out of the desk. Of course you can't do that now days, but he made Bobby Knight look like an saint. Now if we want to talk about the real meanies, the nuns of Sacred Heart, they were in another class. lol

Can't believe we went thru a 8 game losing streak, that was painful. How about AC, he scored a career-high 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting and grabbed 16 rebounds.
