Is this a stadium that will belong to UAB or is it owned by the City? What is UAB's plan for filling the stands in a 45,000 seat stadium?

Will belong to the BJCC.

How we intend to fill the stadium, I don’t know. Attendance declines from game 1 on, each season. The hope is to get into a better league and that the competition will entice people to come watch UAB compete. 18 straight wins at legion field and we are still struggling to draw 20k late in the season.

The thought of a new stadium and it being on the other side of town isn’t enough to have the expectation of filling the stadium.

It’s owned by the BJCC and UAB is the main tenant

We had much better late season attendance last year because the general fan thought we were playing something. 28,000 for UNT in late October and 25,600 for USM in late November

The last 2 home games this season we were coming off of back to back blowout losses where we looked absolutely horrible vs Tennessee and Southern Miss. We needed a miracle to align to make the championship game and most people didn't think that would ever happen. It at least played into it some

Obviously I'm not saying we will fill a 45,000 seat stadium more than maybe once a year...but yeah. 25,000 looks a lot better in a 45k stadium than a 70k stadium
