He was majoring in finance. Learned about unsecured lending, indirect lending, payroll advances, moving reimbursement policies, etc.

He sounds like a smart kid. Talked about majoring in business management (doubt he ever did it) and one day returning to Memphis to work on the community. Also claims to be somewhat fluent in Mandarin.

You are either fluent in Mandarin or you aren't. Way too difficult/alien of a language from English to be just somewhat fluent like you can be with Spanish/French.

I'm sure he has studied it some and has some experience, but from my understanding you'll never be fluent unless you live in a country for an extended period of time to practice it daily.

He does sound like an intelligent kid though. I'm a fan.

Somewhat fluent in Mandarin - wonder if he watched the wiggles as a kid. He'd kind of know Spanish too.

I mean, I agree it's unlikely he's "somewhat fluent" or whatever, but it's cool that he took an interest in such a complex language and I think that speaks a lot to his intelligence beyond basketball.

I am totally ambivalent about the guy now that UC will never have to play against him.
