RE: Toledo Football to Host Six Home Games in 2020
What media career? Last I knew he was the Color Commentary guy on the Rockets Radio Broadcast and that was for one year. Pay the man comparable to other highest paid MAC assistants and maybe we can breath new life into our offense?
GO ROCKETS!! and Happy Holidays.

Has anyone claimed insight into whether or not he would want that type of job, is available for that type of job, or is even good at that type of job? He's a name important to the program but has he assisted at any level? Recruited? As a head coach, what would that dynamic be like. "Hi, I'm Coach Candle here to answer your questions. Never mind that guy in the corner." And if he fails, then how does that reflect on his legacy?
It's an interesting proposal and fun to imagine. I don't think there's lots of cases where it has actually worked.

Bruce has been trying to work his way into broadcasting as he has done radio shows, analyst jobs not just for UT but others, took the NFL broadcasting bootcamp training, etc. Says as much on his web page:
http://bruce-gradkowski.com/my-story/
He also has his restaurants and owns a hospice in Pittsburgh. That doesn't mean he wouldn't also be interested in coaching, but his total coaching experience is what, 1 year as a part time HS QB coach? No evidence one way or another whether he would be a good coach or not, but to jump right to a D1 coordinators job would seem to be too much for his first leap into coaching.
Barry similarly. He's doing a football show for the Cowboys now. Don't think he has any experience in coaching. So again, no evidence one way or another whether he would be a good coach, or is even remotely interested in such a gig.

Couldn't hurt to bring those two Former Rocket greats in to the coaching mix. What's the worse that could happen? Couldn't be any worse than this year... So what if they don't have experience. They probably have 20 years of NFL experience combined. I guess we'll never know until we ask them.

Ok fair enough. Do you have ANY evidence at all that they have not been asked?

EMU 34 CCSU 29
EMU scored a 30 yds TD on a blocked punt return with 10 seconds left in the game.
A very salient point sir! We were two scores ahead before a weather delay and CCSU came out and kicked our ass. The blocked punt was a miracle win.
A win over an FCS team carries little weight at the end of the day. Why schedule one that went undefeated in the FCS regular season last year? Play Valpo instead.

I have ZERO evidence that Bruce or Barry have been asked to coach. I just think it's a great idea. Maybe they've already were asked previous to this year's debacle and turned us down? Who knows? Anyhow, all I want for Christmas is (are?) more Rocket victories under the tutelage of two great coordinators. Stay tuned.
