Kid like this would have been one of the jewels of a class in years past. Not to say he isn't a fantastic recruit but this regime is in a different stratosphere.

No freaking doubt. You know as well as I do these kids and their parents who committed today had a conservation with the coaches in the past 24 hours. No way would they sign unless the conversation did not go like this "Look- you are going to hear a lot of stuff tonight and tomorrow, don't listen to any of it. Coach is not going to MSU. He is staying here, wants to build something really special and he wants you/your son to be part of it."

CLF and Staff landed two Top 500 recruits in the short signing period, both of whom were previously committed to P5 programs. In the four years before Fickell came to Cincinnati, we landed two Top 500 recruits TOTAL.

Also...

Our class' combined point total is further from the second place team (Tulane) than they are from the 11th placed team (UConn). This is insane.
This alone is proof that UC brings excellent potential as a member of a P5 class. Look at what we're doing locally and regionally with only an AAC badge. We could hope for Top 25 classes each year as a member of a P5 and are actually on the cusp of doing this if the coaching staff can hold together. If we can pull in that kind of talent over a sustained period, CFP is surely an attainable goal.

You just spelled out the argument for why Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa, etc never want us in the Big 10.

A couple years ago I looked up the number of 3* and above recruits on rivals by state. Basically the ones who are good recruits for P5 schools. Within Big Ten country, 1-in-3 were from Ohio and 1-in-8 were from within 50 miles of Clifton.

Right. We would absolutely clean house (with exception to OSU, though their focus is more national).

Puzzling why other conferences haven't taken note. Maybe they will now. It's one thing to win constantly amongst your peers. It's quite another to register recruiting classes like this in your own backyard and to register wins against the old guard. The only thing missing is a signature win in a NY6. We will have arrived as a quality expansion option and it will be too much for an interested conference to look past.

This. People always bring up OSU does not want UC in the P5; it is the next level of schools that would have the most to lose with us in the conference. OSU's recruiting would not be hurt in the least.

People always talk about UC in the ACC or in the Big 12--- Louisville, Pitt and WVU (Big12) want no part of that. Heck, those schools won't even schedule us in FB or hoops*. They are concerned it would hurt their recruiting.

* Pitt has scheduled a H/H with us for football in 2023 and 2024.

This makes an incredible statement about the state of our program. Recruiting classes like this over a span of years can really put us over the top competitive-wise and recognition-wise.
