What I had expected in a game at home that we matched up well in. Great performance in a must win game.
Loved that the staff finally made changes. Starting MAW was yuuge. Shortening the bench. Thank you. Getting Sorolla more minutes - dude is very smart....does little things that don’t show up in the box score but make the team way better.. Putting the ball in JCs hand as a PG.
Great win. 1-0 in the new season. Let’s keep it rolling against Iowa.
The only thing that concerns me with shortening the bench is the amount of wear and tear on our top 7 players. We really need Harvey, Dou, and Davenport to give us some quality minutes against quality opponents, I mean they can't be as bad as McNeal has been, can they? lol

Just realized Harvey, Davenport, and Diarra did not get any minutes. Surprised by Harvey's lack of minutes but he does not appear to be ready yet.
Great win! Team seemed to feed off the crowd and come together this game.
Still some spurts of stupidity, but you can fix idiotic passes. We have to start getting back on defense as well.
Jarron showed some intensity at times. It looked to me like a few of the guys were getting pissed off by the Vols players and it seemed to turn them up a notch.
Got a W on a must win game!
MAW is having a hell of a freshmen year. Should start the rest of the season.

The guys showed a lot of heart, especially early in the second half when we were getting jobbed on the fouls.
Seemed like we killed them on the glass.
Loved Adams-Woods; can't believe what a get he was.
Loved the short bench.
Loved our bigs; Sorrolla can move and pass the ball and score around the rim, and Vogt is terrific with the ball underneath.
Tre Scott played great all around from the start.
Jarron was really bad, but he had a critical 5 or 6 minutes there before he got his 5th.
Jaevin made some key shots.
Keith Williams was up and down but he also scored some timely points.
Pretty much everyone but Jarron played really well. Great to see.
Agree with all of the above. That stretch from jarron was where we finally separated. It was huge but only possible because the other guys stepped up when jarron and Vogt were out.
Mika has been so much better than I could have expected as a freshman. There's really nothing about his game that I don't like -- he does a little bit of everything on both ends of the floor. Seems like he will be cemented as a starter at one of the guard spots the next 3 years, as he can play the point or off the ball.

Perhaps, but none of the 3 look to be ready yet. I’d stick with the 8 man rotation unless going deeper becomes absolutely necessary.
I don’t think it was an accident that the team looked way more cohesive tonight from start to finish.
Mika is really, really good. He's gonna be a terrific career bearcat. Tre Scott stepped us as a senior in must win game. Sorolla contributed excellent bench minutes. Vogt was solid when he was in. And with Jarron's career seemingly sinking before ours eyes he had a terrific second half after the 4th foul.

Will he need surgery to have his '169 kenpom Ortg' removed?
Atrocious officiating but what do you expect from a crew anchored by TV Teddy.
I thought Jarron was great on D and getting other guys shots. He had some lazy passes in the first half which were infuriating. Ultimately he came up big down the stretch which should boost his confidence.
Glad we don’t have to hear people calling for a Brannen’s head tonight. And btw- if you listen to Brannen, he praises Jarron constantly in the post games. Let’s put the bad relationship stuff to bed. He’s allowed to challenge the guy to be better, and rightfully so. Doesn’t mean he doesn’t support him, quite the opposite.
All of the peeps pining for Mick and hating on Brannen seem to have gone to bed early. Nice win tonight with some excellent player contributions and smart coaching. When #34 came back in late I thought we were done but he came up big! Way too many TO's but the 'Cats hung in there. In spite of TV Teddy's whistles and T's 100% FT shooting, we prevailed! Go Cats!

it's going to become necessary. Just looked at the Box Score. Tra played 38 minutes, Keith 32 and MAW 31. We can stick McNeal in to sub for MAW and i actually like the Defense McNeal offers but he brings almost nothing on the offensive end which places a lot of pressure for the other four spots to produce. That's fine if you have Vogt, Tra, Keith and Jarron/Jaevin out there but asking both Tra and Keith to iron man it for the remainder of the season is simply not a formula for success. i don't know where we find the depth but we need to find someone capable of giving those guys a breather. That probably means more blooding in for one of the two youngsters in Harvey or Davenport.

I think UC pulls out a W in a must win game at home.
I think "must win" can be overused sometimes, but this particular game is a "must win" if I have ever seen one, on so many levels. Brannen needs this win badly not only for this season and our resume, but to bring some hope for the future. Also wouldn't hurt the momentum for Eason announcing his commitment on Friday I believe.
You two are very smart guys Props to you on the pick, and especially props to the team for its effort.

Would you mind explaining what this means? I hardly understand basketball, let alone basketball advanced statistics.
All 5 starters scored double digits, 1 bench payer did and Sorolla was 4-4 from the field, combined with
Vogt 9-12 from that position. Vogt is averaging 13 a game at almost 70% from the floor.
