We just don't have anyone that can take over games down the stretch. Glad Ezikpe played better.

ODU vs Richmond
Somehow a fire got lit under Ezikpe. He played with the most passion I've seen yet this year. I'm almost ready to give up on Dickens. I'm thinking he should just stay out of the post. Every post move seems to end with a travel or a fumble. Green had so many 3 opportunities that he passed up just to dribble around for 15 seconds and then take a contested jumper. And when he's doing that everyone just stands there. Set more screens, please. Especially for Oliver. He didn't shoot as well tonight but he does have a nice stroke. But like Godwin he's much better shooting off a pass than a dribble. Just way too many mistakes, turnovers, errant passes, bad decisions. Defense was the only reason we were in this at the end. I just hope at some point we can get into a rhythm, we still have a long way to go.

Ezikpe did play better.

Dickens and Carver and Reece unfortunately returned to form.

I did take some hope from the play of Oliver. His stats tonight were not stellar, but he'll be a heckuva player for us.

Those calling for JJ’s head right now certainly would have been on the Fire Mooney bandwagon for the last 3-4 years. The question I have for those Richmond fans, does this season (and potentially next season, since they are loaded with juniors) make it worth the patience?

I don’t know how anyone could defend dickens at this point, he absolutely sucks. I feel bad for Oliver. He waited a year and a half for this circus. Curry had moments of brilliance and moments of head scratchers tonight. At least it was entertaining I guess? Lol

IIRC, Curry saw next to no pt in the first half. Greene played point a lot. In the 2nd half, after Curry started playing, we started to catch up. Why does Greene play point AT ALL? He has no handle, doesn't see the court. I may be wrong, but I blame this loss on JJ and his playing Greene out of posituion.

He made a sweet 16......and almost got fired.

Why do we have no standards?

IDK, Curry does a decent job of that at times. The bigger problem is that we get nothing out of offensive sets. There is way too much dribbling and ball movement is terrible in the half court.

I am just getting home back in Richmond. For anyone that might have been watching on tv, or seen the play at the end with about 30 seconds to go when Kalu gets a rebound off a miss shot, the ref blows the whistle but nothing is called. We were on the second level on the other side so couldn’t really see what happened. We thought they at called a foul on the tics but after the stoppage of play we inbounded the ball. We couldn’t figure out what had happened. Just curious as that was definitely a big play.

I believe they stopped for the injured monarch laying on the floor. Someone was bitching and I believe the ref motioned to the player and said something like “he’s hurt!” Basically defending his reason for stopping play. I forget who it was that went down.

Ok, thanks. I didn’t see anyone on the floor either. But, hey, I am getting old.

I could be mixing up the plays but I believe that’s the one you’re referring to. There was a lot of confusion during that.

It was a flop warning against Wade

Curry was hobbled in that play and they issued a flop warning to Francis from Richmond, not Wade.

It was corrected to be Wade

ODU vs Richmond
It was a pretty bad flop. I actually didn't realize that was even against the rules.

RE: ODU vs Richmond
On the positive - it was a fun game to watch for once...close, and the guys showed some heart and battled with a quality opponent. Crowd tried to get in it in the last 3 mins.

On the negative - our offense is still offensive. And the set we ran with the last possession was horrible. Also, I know no one expects the big man to shoot a 3 at the end of the game, but the clock was at 3 seconds and he was wide open. We had no one on him. I wish someone had closed him out.

Progress, but it's slow. Still don't see this squad competing for the conference title. Hope that changes.
