Most of the AAC holds a grudge against Boise State, but they would be a solid all sport member, and would blow this MWC deal up.

It wouldn’t blow up the MW deal that much as it would be a wash for losing the BSU bonus.

Boise:

"Our decision to rejoin the MWC in 2013 was based on certain promises. These promises are written down, and cannot be changed without our consent. The MWC now says they will no longer honor those promises. Therefore, we are in the process of weighing our options to move forward."

What are their options?

1. Stay and fight to enforce the promises.
2. Go independent.
3. Join another conference.

If Boise left the MWC it would absolutely cripple that MWC deal.

If the agreement that the MWC had with Boise had those stipulations in there, not sure there's a damn thing the MWC can do about it.

I wonder if the MWC encouraged Boise to go with Fox rather than ESPN. That seemed extremely weird quite frankly.

As for #1, BSU has made a few concessions already from the term sheet so not how much they can enforce the “promises”.

I'd kind of think legally that doesn't hold much weight though. If we have an agreement, and you allow me 2-3 small things opposite of that agreement, it doesn't change the rest of the agreement at all.

Define cripple? When BSU came back they only brought $6 million to the deal each year. The conference was going to get $18 million from CBS regardless. So the worse the rest of schools would get is going from 3.9 to 3.5 million? Maybe less as BSU already takes 1.6 million off the top.

What was the MWC deal 45 million? I'd venture a guess if the MWC is lucky they'd get 30 million.... Maybe even lower.

DavidSt has long maintained Boise’s ratings draw stretches through Arkansas and across the country and has predicted it would open doors.

And I have long stated Arkansas Tech will be the 12th AAC member

Also, not only would it cripple the MWC financially, but also on the field. Boise has been the MWC champion in 3 of the last 6 years(and 2 of the last 3). And the fact that it'd likely require at least 1 more if not 2 more teams to work for the AAC to take them- you'd probably see the MWC lose San Diego St(2 titles) and I dunno, Colorado St in the process.

I’d venture to say 35 to 37 million.
If BSU brought $15 million on their own they would go Indy. Not even BYU is that valuable.

Doubt it. Seems like the conference schools are rebelling against BSU now. BSU has nowhere to go except Indy.

If they got to go to the AAC with them? You better believe they would be out of there so quick...

The AAC can absolutely go for the kill shot on the MWC here I think.

BSUs football coach has already voiced unhappiness with the conference. I think the question is would the aac go to 14 teams?

I doubt the AAC will would even expand past 12. It would be a wash for BSU as they would get only about 5 million from the AAC contract.

I think that's what you're hoping. I think if the AAC knew they could totally kneecap the MWC, they would absolutely do it. It would make the G5 race really a G1 race.
