RE: Football Recruiting Thread
Why is UCF doing nothing in the portal? I'd think it would be one of the most attractive transfer options in the country.

UCF has that island pipeline working. Hope you get him.
I lived out Ewa, years ago, with Campbell the local high school, in Navy housing that the Navy no longer owns (my oldest was born on that posting, so no real Campbell connections).
Trivia note - Ewa is a cardinal direction from Honolulu: Diamond Head-Ewa on one axis, Mauka-Makai on the other axis.

That’s cool! Yeah he’s a 4 star WR and has offers from schools like Michigan, USC, UCLA, etc

Tulsa brings in 2 in 24 hours.
Owen Ostroski, DE. Rivals 3 star. Son of TU All American and Buffalo Bill Jerry Ostroski. One of the best defensive players in the Tulsa area.
John-Michael Terry, OLB. Former Rivals 3 star. OU transfer. Played as a back up mostly it looks like. Went to HS in Tulsa as well.

UCF lands Tennessee transfer WR Brandon Johnson. Led the Vols in receiving yards in 2017.

From 247Sports:
SMU landed its second transfer at tight end of the offseason when Oklahoma tight end Grant Calcaterra announced his transfer to SMU on Twitter. SMU is looking for a player to step up with tight end Kylen Granson off to the NFL.
A member of the 2017 recruiting class coming out of Rancho Santa Margarita (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic, the 6-feet-3, 234-pound Calcaterra was the No. 6 tight end nationally in the industry generated 247Sports Composite.

Terry had 22 tackles in 2020, 16 in 2019, solid pickup.

Calcaterra is exceptional, has a history with concussions.

SMU continues to be Transfer Portal U. You guys picked up on the possibilities of this before anyone else in the G5.
And I say that out of respect/envy. I wish USF would up its transfer portal game.

He will be THRILLED to finally have a QB who can throw the ball straight into his hands.
Watching Tenn QB's try to throw a forward pass the last few years was laughable most games.

Here is where our 2022 class currently stands:
We just lost our second member of the savage 7 crew Melvin Jordan. Idk if we will get either of them back but sounds like they will still be considering Cincy.
I would expect we lose Randy Masters as well since he is apart of the savage 7 although he is an offensive guy and these players are decommiting due to change at DC. All the others i feel good about keeping for ‘22 although it’s still way early.
We have our full class signed for ‘21.

Even if we do lose Masters too, we've still got 4 guys rated higher than the average commit in any year for Cincinnati recruiting and we're in on a few other biggies.

Yeah we are off to a great start regardless of whatever the Savage 7 ends up doing. I think Byrd is underrated too. I was extremely pleased to land him.

Per 247 Sports: On Saturday afternoon, former Missouri offensive tackle, 6'6", 315# Thalen Robinson took to Twitter to announce that he would be transferring to SMU for the 2021-22 NCAA football season. Robinson was a former 247Sports Composite three-star recruit in the class of 2019. Played in 6 games as a Freshman.
