I understand your point but losing to William & Mary and JMU in the same season seems like a bit more than a re-building year. It really is atrocious and unacceptable.

We have been stuck in neutral for the past 30 years with slight ups and downs. JJ has been here for a while now. Do you really seem him leading the team in a significant upward trajectory going forward? Sincerely, I ask this question. I am not sure I do.

More specific to the thread, AJ Oliver is a stud. I am so happy to have him on the team.

It’s definitely time for a change - time for a new era to begin. I expect the team to continue to improve in the coming months. But it’s just time for a change.

What FBS FOOTBALL mid major school do you think the basketball program should try to emulate?

Because I can’t think of ONE midmajor basketball program (at a FBS school) that has a dominate basketball program and doesn’t have to rebuild.

Temple, Cincinnatti, Memphis? They are arguably "mid-major" but they are definitely in a G5 conference. Those would be the programs I think ODU should try to emulate in any case.

We are all sure as **** not mid-majors.

Lol. Wut?!?!?

Temple, Cincy, and Memphis are not, and never have been mid-majors in basketball.

Think again. Denial doesn’t make it any less true. Is there an AAC patch on your jersey? Major is the P5 and Big East. UConn would have been the exception, but they figured it out and are off to major hoops in the Big East again. Those three are some of the best mid majors in college hoops. Take the compliment. I wish we had that level of success.

I am not sure what this discussion is about.
"Mid-major" is an unofficial (not NCAA) designation that by definition comprises the conferences, and therefore the programs, that play Division 1 men's basketball but are not part of the power 5 ("high-majors").

ESPN blurs the line a bit and I guess this is the same argument that makes the AAC a P6? 05-stirthepot
