BTW, is Oliveri injured?

Everyone suited up last night. McCarthy did get his first extended action in quite some time, so perhaps.

Let’s see if we can keep up the streak and make triple digits.

Oh, and seal the win

Nope. 96-84 final.

The 96 points allowed by HBU is their lowest opponents total allowed in 5 weeks, since their November 8 loss to Oral Roberts 95-81.

HBU led Tulsa by 8 in the first half of their season opener, but went on to lose 80-72. So far, it’s the only game they’ve lost by single-digits, and the only time they’ve held a team under 95.

I don't think I saw Oliveri. Was that incorrect?

Box score shows 10 Owls with minutes last night. Oliveri wasn’t one of them.

HBU looked better to me than an 0-8 team...

Kind of like Rice looked as an 0-9 team?

Good point. And their OOC schedule mirrors that as well.
3 ranked teams and no one outside of KenPom’s top 200.
Good enough to be “THE NATIONS’S BEST 0-8 TEAM” ™, presented by RiceOwls.com.
KenPom has them rated up at 310/353.

RE: Rice vs. HBU
A couple of interesting observations from the game: Murphy passed up a good number of shots during the game. His ankle must still be a bit tender because he did not shoot much from outside the 3 point line. Also, Robert Martin pulled Coach Pera aside during the last time out during the first half and told him that he had a mis-match on the court and could take his man and score at will. Robert took the last 2 possessions and did exactly that with two lay-ups and a free throw, closing the gap to 2 points from 7 in less than 2 minutes. Robert finished with 8 for 9 shooting against HBU. I was impressed how he took charge on the court.

During a local summer basketball camp when I was a freshman in high school I made the same determination when I was being guarded in the post by a middle school kid. I scored at will during the scrimmage and it might have been the peak of my basketball career. Of course, I didn't realize it was my peak at the time since I was dominating Carlos Boozer and he didn't become famous (or grow a couple feet) until a little later.
