Picking nits I admit, but the late kickoff is at 6:30pmET. And, neither game will be on ESPN. ESPN-2 for the early 2pmET kickoff and ESPN-U for the 6:30pmET kickoff.
edit note: ESPN is televising bowl games (aka meaningless exhibitions) all day Saturday, Dec. 21, next weekend

D1AA schedule, Dec. 21:

I accidentally left off the “2”. As pointed out by an earlier poster, ESPN 2 spot will draw more viewership and historically that spot usually goes to the Bison.
That’s fine for me. Can’t tailgate all day if game starts at 2.

Agree. I like night games at BFS - even in the colder months - so I'm like you hoping for the later start.

If it is anything like last night you won't need a parking pass. I think there might have been 10 cars in the lot.

I'll be shocked if they put JMU/Weber on ESPN2 and NDSU on ESPNU.

For my own selfish reasons I strongly prefer the 2pm slot. I stayed up til after 4am to watch all of last night’s game. I’ve been destroyed all day today.

why would that matter? anyone who subscribes to ESPN has both of those channels.

I think there's a fair amount more "status" to being on ESPN2 vs. ESPNU. But I think it's a tiny difference, IMO.

ESPN-2 is the higher profile of the two channels. 86 million households have it. ESPN-U at 63 million. When you go in a bar, airport, etc., it is highly more likely ESPN-2 will be on default than ESPN-U. During the college football season, ESPN tends to place their games on any given Saturday with ESPN & ABC being the top priority games followed by ESPN-2 then ESPN-U often gets the leftovers. Not always, but that's the tendency.

I was at the game, drove home 4 hours and then stayed up all morning watching the recording on the DVR.

They are bison, but what are the Dukes? Chopped liver? I will be there rooting next Saturday whether early or late, ESPN2 or ESPNU. First home game for me this season which is unusual (went to Chattanooga and W & M games)

Guys, other than the 93 yd TD to start the monmouth game, JMU has allowed 0 rushing yards since that moment.

Dont think i've ever seen a team hold multiple teams to 0 or negative rushing yards in a game more than once in the season. The dukes have done it twice! -6 against uri

A little weird that they haven’t announced it yet. Maybe ESPN is weighing the options more than I’d have expected between the appeal of NDSU vs the appeal of JMU and the better matchup.
There definitely are packages with ESPN2 but not ESPNU though. Hell, even last night at the game my buddy was asking which channel Weber/Montana was on because he gets 2 and not U.

RE: Semifinals: #3 Weber St (11-3) @ #2 JMU (13-1), Saturday, 12/21
I think we match up really well against Weber. In fact, they look pretty weak to me. Their offense is suspect. They can't run the ball against good rushing defenses. Several games this year they have had less than 70 yards total rushing - 35 (SDSU), 66 (UNI), 69 (Mont), 44 (Kenn), 43 (Mont). Their ypc average for those games is 1.9.
The most interesting games are their two most recent. Incredibly, Weber beat Montana with only 113 yards of total offense, but the Griz threw five picks. Hard to overcome that. Montana handled Weber easily earlier in the season, 35-16. Kennesaw ran the ball down Weber's throat (285 yards), the difference in the game being a scoop and score by Weber's D.
So, suffice it to say that Weber is going to struggle to run the ball against the Dukes. And, judging by the Kennesaw stats, we are going to run the ball at will. If we can do two things, we should win this game going away....
1. Take care of the ball.
2. Pressure the quarterback early and often. Constantine is an OK quarterback, nothing special - 10/13 TD/INT ratio. He is not much of a running threat (33 total yards for the season)
Barring beating ourselves, we should trim Weber pretty good. My prediction - 38-6.
