Exclamation Articles acknowledging strength of 2019 AAC Football
Recognition of The American (FB) Conference since mid-season:

"AAC football is every bit as good as ACC..."

"...this season the American is at least as good a league — in fact, probably a better one — than the ACC."

https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/co...story.html

.
AP Top 25: Navy Gives AAC 4 Teams, 3rd-Most by Conference

"Navy moves into The Associated Press college football poll at No. 25, giving American Athletic Conference four ranked teams, more than all but two FBS conferences."

.
"Is The AAC Still An Underdog Conference?"

excerpts:

"There’s always a few G5 teams who punch above their weight class... Now, an entire conference is making us ask the question..: Have they (the AAC) reached Power 6 status?"

"The AAC has more programs that ...experts (consider), ‘these teams are very good,’ than either one of... (the ACC and PAC-12) Power 5 conferences."

"The conference is 3-1 in major bowl games since 2013. No other G5 conference has more than one major bowl bid since the start of the College Football Playoff."

"This season the AAC is 26-1 against other non-P5 conference teams so far in 2019."

"The growth of the AAC has been exponential... Temple, Memphis, and Tulane are all examples of this. Add in a few stronger programs historically, like Houston, UCF, Navy, and SMU and the conference is full of studs." ... "It doesn’t hurt that they’ll be losing (1 FB program) either. That will only help the AAC’s strength of schedule..."

And why is extremely important this league future member is solid football ready... AAC doesn't need another uconn bottom feeder.

The AAC also needs some mebers that want to be here (SDSU, AF...) and want to help build the brand of the AAC and not wait for the BIG XII (BYU, CSU, and some AAC members...).

That's probably fair. P3, M3, G4.

The answer is yes. We are a P6 conference. This was a terrific season for the AAC. 04-rock

RE: Articles acknowledging strength of 2019 AAC Football
I'm not sure how Navy is ranked after getting railroaded by Notre Dame by 32 points. If Notre Dame is only the 15th best team, there is no way Navy is 23rd.

23-1 against G5 teams?

Memphis played ULM (5-7) and South Alabama (2-10). Beat 4-8 Ole Miss and FCS Southern (while giving up 24 points). Only ranked wins came against conference opponents who also didn't manage to beat any one of note out of conference.

I'm skeptical of the AAC's inflated sense of strength within the conference due to their putrid showing against above .500 P5 opponents and their wins over any other G5 team that would even be considered average.

Memphis v. Penn State will be very telling on the overall strength of the conference because Notre Dame and Ohio State were awful showings. I don't believe one P5 win for the AAC came over a .500 or better team whereas the Sun Belt had two (UNC and Tennessee).

Honey, don't. Let's not go and try to hang our hats on powerhouses like UNC/Tenn compared to OSU/ND. The Sun Belt's best team barely beat a UNC team that regularly gets demolished by our worst team.

Navy beat 10-2 Air Force ooc, a better win than ULL, UNC, or USCe.
Navy beat 10-2 SMU (who beat TCU whose Massey composite ranking is adjacent to UNC).

Navy's national rankings:
Rushing offense: 1st
Total offense: 20th
Scoring offense: 12th
RZ Offense: 3rd
Plays of 20+ yards: 22nd
Rushing plays of 20+ yards: 1st
Turnover margin: 29th
Total defense: 22nd
Def. yards per rush: 15th
TFL/G: 45th

Note how many of those are defensive stats, or on offense are "total" not just rushing.

You're. Just. Wrong.

UCF clobbered FAU at the beginning of the season but I Think the boca bowl will be closer and the UCF marshall game will be closer than people expect.
