RE: Nippert pricing for 2020

The problem, here, seems to be how this has been communicated and handled so far. And based on the feedback of the diehards on this board, I have to agree it hasn't been handled well.
I'd encourage the university to share some of the data and reasoning behind why doubling the price of certain tickets seems to be necessary --- especially when you look at the home slate of games next year:
Austin Peay
Western Michigan
ECU
Houston
Memphis
USF
To the fans receiving these increases: don't let the university's fumbled communication steer you away from being in Nippert. We all know there are SEVERAL great, affordable seats in such an intimate stadium. Moving to a new section will be different, but I'm confident you can stay within your price range and still get a great in-game experience.
Looks like a strong slate:
Austin Peay finished 11-4 just losing in The FCS Semis
Western Michigan will be playing in The First Responders Bowl
ECU we were lucky to beat them this year
Houston will be loaded next year with all the end of career Redshirts
Memphis beat us twice this year and is in NY6 Cotton Bowl
USF with a decent coach who knows.

RE: Nippert pricing for 2020
So I'll let y'all in. This has been in the works for a good while behind the scenes. This was Sosna's last big thing he wanted to get accomplished before heading off. They wanted to personally contact the fans that were going to be the most impacted from this ticket price change before the public rollout. That's why some of you haven't heard anything at all
So these are the supposed changes:
2/3rds of the tickets will either decrease in price or stay the same
more than doubling the amount of $99 season tickets to attract young alumni and younger fans
Simplify the seating map for casual fans and adjust the map to fix single game ticket pricing issues (like the east side)
slight price break on East side (visitor's side) to incentivize people to sit there since it is so prominently displayed on TV

I have heard not everyone was on board with this. But since this was Bohn's boy, it went through. Will be interesting to see the new AD's thought on this.
Main arguments: how much demand is there at these price points; and what do people do who have more than two season tickets - do they relocate elsewhere or renew for fewer tickets.

I've been in the 2nd row of the lair since 2007. I'd pay triple to move down a row. If anyone can help me, I'd appreciate it.

My tickets that I have had since 2006 are going from $350 per seat to $750 per seat. I guess this is how they reward loyal customers. I might be done, but I will have to think about it. The funny thing is, the seats are partially obstructed since they are in the 16th row of the lower bowl. I can’t imagine anyone would pay that much for them. I guess they would rather have them empty.
FYI... I just received an email from UC that they will no longer be increasing the price of seats. Apparently, the new AD got wind of this and squashed it.

Smart move. Create demand with the excess supply before you raise prices. A slight price increase, okay. An exorbitant increase, no dice.
