"UAB and Alabama previously met at Legion Field during the 2014 and 2017 seasons, with the Blazers coming out on top 41-14 and 38-7, respectively."

We can dream, can't we? 03-lmfao

Good thing we’ll have this game to keep us above a 20k average.

That would have been a good matchup for the Blazers if they want to be a better team win or lose.

It’s time for 9 conference games really.

The Thursday openers seem to be popular with the average fan around town & students. Having the Thursday opener against NM St, AL A&M on a Saturday, and USM at home should set up a good year for attendance.

Well, we thought this year would have been an even better attendance however we dropped about 2000 overall.
(even with the State game bump)

If Clark decides to leave anytime soon the late season attendance drops will be one of the reasons.

It's just something that'll take time to build. We're still a young school overall with an even younger FBS program. Still building the 2nd generation fan base.

We depend on casual fans & AU/UA fans where UAB is their 2nd team. When AU/UA hits the meatier part of their SEC schedule in November we start to lose people.

Been that way since the beginning. But the two nationally televised beat downs prior to our last two home game also were a factor. When your die hard base is small, can't afford the very public displays of ineptitude.

The three televised debacles in the second half of the season were big setbacks to our credibility in this market. If we get a fourth in the bowl game, it's going to show in our attendance next year.
