Sorry but they should be in the Cuuusa. Money talks. They can keep a very good coach paying 2.5M/year. They are not going anywhere but up. Who comes with them to get to 16? We already aren't making any money so what does it matter to go to 16. Heck, Liberty could pay us each $2M a year in perpetuity.

Not sure how many LU fans want CUSA or SB. I'm really enjoying independent FB with ASUN everything else. It made sense to ask CUSA when trying to jump to FBS but everything worked out for the best.

Per Jerry Falwell Jr’s twitter and multiple new outlets, both the belt and CUSA rejected liberty in 2017.

I’m not sure why the AAC would want Liberty

RE: Liberty
If we get them they will eventually leave us, unlike most of our programs Liberty is a program on the rise.

Apart from the mind set that "it's a conservative, evangelical Christian school" that some people claim is a bad thing and therefore brings some sort of bad juju into the conference affiliation equation, they have a huge upside. Maybe not today, but in another 5 years or so it's very likely they are going to be making some serious noise athletically. A prudent conference commish might want to keep a close eye on what a school like them is doing and has done if the need to expand were to arise.

Private school 1.43 billion endowment (the AAC has two other privates already)
Almost 47,000 undergrads
3 billion in gross assets
Very active and loyal alumni base
Pretty strong academics

Another upside would be the travel proximity of Liberty to/from Temple, Navy and ECU, which is quite compact.

Will it happen? Who knows. But I say again it would be prudent for the commish to stay aware.

RE: Liberty
As unpopular as it is with the anti-religion zealots and other single issue radicals, I've always thought Liberty would be a great addition. They have solid sports success, they're pumping money into their programs, they have a huge following nationwide, and they're in the general geographic footprint of the eastern half of the league.

RE: Liberty
I believe Liberty is a looong way away from an AAC invite but I have no problem with them and if CUSA needed to replace or wanted to add teams Liberty and obviously App St would be the first two on my list.

Count me as an anti-religious zealot, but Liberty should never be anywhere near the C-USA.

RE: Liberty
I think Liberty being independent is the best for Liberty. I think what they have accomplished so far has been pretty impressive in starting the program. Got conditional bowl tie-ins with the Cure. Have conditional tie-ins with multiple tie-ins for 2020-2025. If Liberty can make three bowls in the five year look-in for the next bowls, they will be able to have bowl tie-in like Army and BYU.

I could ignore Liberty's wacko belief that evolution doesn't exist. All the rest of our schools take tuition money from Dance majors and tell them they will be able to get jobs and pay back their student loans, so everybody is lying to young impressionable students.

If Liberty starts a conference, I hope they invite Southern Miss. They should have been invited. I don't believe in 48 genders, but we accepted Charlotte. Where's the problem?

The 49ers believe in 48 genders? Could they not have come up with one more for good measure?

Nor to nitpick, but there are only 15000 students on campus.
The rest are online students.

No thanks to Liberty. If they are joining, I'd rather be independent.
