I really like the comments Rahne made. Not much "ra-ra", but a message to rally around, grounded in responsibility, family, and the future.

Completely agree. Seems like a really strong leader, who will do a fine job running a program. The question left for me is whether he is a great tactician. We will have to wait for football to find out. But I have no doubt that if this guy is able to a) coach at a high level or b) hire people who can coach at a high level, he will be a star in his field some day.

What an inspirational story. So many unusual twists and turns to get where he is now. I thought it was particularly interesting that after apparently playing no college football and with a degree from Columbia, he traded in his job at a law firm to become a college coach. I don’t normally read the back stories on our coaches so this is the first time I’m am hearing about this. But it was very interesting to learn his life story to this point and the major ups and downs. It made him very human to me. I will be looking for him on the sidelines, whenever that will be.
