Yes, yes it does. Somewhere there is a glass table that didn't make it through that game!
I was told a couple years ago I am not allowed post a video of the ending. Oh well. Always a classic
The ban on that video is still in effect.
The ban exists in perpetuity. So let it be written. So let it be done.

Predict the Final CAA Standings
Per the OP, W&M was left a loaded roster?!?! All but one starter transferred. Tony left, and Owens, Audige, Milon, and Pierce followed. Then, our only recruit went to St. Joes. Many of us wondered how we'd have enough guys to play. Luckily, Knight tested NBA waters and smartly decided to stay at W&M. Dane did a great job finding a few guys to fill out the roster.

NU having a rough OOC. Why do I still feel like they'll be near the top of the CAA?

1. Bill Coen and his proven system.
2. The health factor: They were missing 2 key bigs in the Eastern Michigan game.

On top of that, the CAA is as open as it likely has ever been. Going with stability is a safe bet. Almost every game is going to be a coin flip. Should make for a fun conference season

Predict the Final CAA Standings
Welp. It appears I was way wrong on William and Mary. They look like the team to beat this year. Since we’re having such a crap year and they’ve always had such historical bad luck... And I know I’m gonna take heat for this, but I’d be happy for them if I’m 2020 they finally got to the dance.

I'm with you. I want strong teams in the CAA, and an NCAA appearance would do wonders for the Tribe. It would also put a contested firing in the rear view mirror.

I never would have thought that either. There AD made a very bold decision and so far it is paying off.

Welp, I disagree. This was going to be our year with, at minimum, Knight-Van Vliet-Loewe-and Scott and most likely Audige. Also would've had Cam Brown, who switched to St Joes. Pierce may have left regardless.
Dane is winning with Tony's guys plus a couple of grad transfers.
No need to blow it up on your board so sorry about that but Huge's decision isn't paying off, Tony's players are paying off. Dane was her 7th choice...6 said no way...she's fortunate to have him. I like Dane and I love my Tribe but the only thing I want in the rearview is Samantha. NCAAT won't change that.

Wasn't this kinda the point though according to her? She thought Tony wasn't getting the most out of the players he had, and that she thought someone else could get them over the hump? Maybe I am reading the situation wrong, but the tribe doing well with Tony's players and without Tony, makes her point. (I also thought and still think getting rid of Shaver was a mistake)

No worries. It's a CAA related thread and a decent topic of discussion considering your team's success thus far.

Solid analysis.
A comparable scenario for us would be when Moss took Brownell's class to a 20 win season.
While we wont know the final answer for awhile, the Tribe's success this season has certainly helped your AD from a PR and hot seat standpoint

RE: Predict the Final CAA Standings
There is absolutely now way to know if Shaver would haave had succcess with this group. He's had some pretty talented groups over the years and yet the Tribe has zero NCAA appearances.
If you really think about it, if the long term thought was Shaver wasn't your guy, giving a new coach a decent roster to win with immediately is a great long term move. Had Shaver finished out this year and didn't get to the NCAA tournament, new guy coming in would likely have been set up for failure as the stellar seniors departed.

Problem is I don't think the W&M Administration had a solid plan in place for replacing Shaver. They were just trying to make a "big splash" by firing Shaver because of the 0 NCAA Tournament appearances.
It wasn't fair to judge Shaver based solely on that either. Few places are tougher to win at than W&M. He was by FAR their most successful HC of all-time.
It wouldn't have been far off to compare it to someone firing Scalf because Baseball never made a Super Regional in his tenure. There were forces at work that prevented that from happening. Scalf did the most he could with the resources and limitations in place. The same was true of Shaver. The only difference being Basketball is a fully funded sport at W&M, and baseball is still not fully funded here.

Again, back to Solohawk's example similar to UNCW in '06...
That didn't really seem to work out in respect to a great long term move.
