If you really think about it, if the long term thought was Shaver wasn't your guy, giving a new coach a decent roster to win with immediately is a great long term move. Had Shaver finished out this year and didn't get to the NCAA tournament, new guy coming in would likely have been set up for failure as the stellar seniors departed.
Again, back to Solohawk's example similar to UNCW in '06...
That didn't really seem to work out in respect to a great long term move.
Right, time will tell if they have the right guy to continue to build on what looks to be a solid year 1.

RE: Predict the Final CAA Standings
I think that essentially the best players are the ones that would have also been on the team had Coach Shaver been retained(along with Audige, Cam Brown, LJ Owens, and possibly Pierce and Milon). Thanks to what could have been and also FloSports, I have not watched any of the team this season. But, Coach Fischer appears to be handling things well and with class. I hope he does well and gets several years to work through the struggles for next season. Next year will be a significant challenge with Knight, Van Vliet and I guess some grad transfers gone. The AD's decision made it less likely that the Tribe would win in 2020. Maybe it will still happen and I hope for a lot of alums, and current and former players that it does. The Tribe would have been much deeper in talent than it is. None of that is on Coach Fischer. 82Hawk is correct on his point about timing. It doesn't factor in the buyout though and the AD didn't expect so many guys to leave. Fischer wasn't even in her plans. But, she might luck into weak league competition and hit the goal this season. Shaver never had 2 7 footers before in a league where there appears to be no other inside presence.
If you look back even at your board comments the last 4-5 years, the Tribe often starts fast. Based only on recent history of programs, it is hard to imagine Northeastern and Charleston not being there at the end along with Hofstra.
I also hope you guys get things turned around. The 2016-2017 games and tournament were amazing. The league is not as good as it was then, top to bottom. The lack of exposure for the league has also really hurt. But, it makes it easier to turn away from it.
